Guest guest
Don't worry, I sent a scathing complaint. This makes me sad too. When we go on road trips, Mc french fries was my only fast, hot option- i hate cold food. I don't eat meat either (ya, i know they're not vegetarian fries, but what can you do) so my options are even more limited. BAH! I send curses in their general direction! I do wonder if perhaps this is a CYA response to new labeling laws- perhaps they were always recycling oil and only now revealing it? Or this is to cover the possibility that oil might be recycled? I never had any negative reaction, though... I immediately feel an overpowering urge for french fries. (And I very rarely have them.) > > This is a huge blow. I'm actually on the verge of tears. Guest guest
the page is dated at the bottom, the page with the wheat on it is dated 2/3/06. You are looking at an old page I can't tell you why your computer won't refresh. Just call them tomorrow and you'll see. Tons of others can see it as well (I'm on a number of celiac lists). Sue... I feel the same way, eating Mcs fries was my one quick and easy meal when traveling by car. I'm really upset, I didn't have them often but really loved them when I did. I already wrote Mcs a letter telling them how disappointed I am in this. they are french fried potatoes for gosh sake why can't they just be potatoes, veggie oil and salt?? Guest guest
Uggh! I refreshed every page I went to and I've got the wheat x in the box and gluten x in the box now. My kids are going to be sooooo bummed! Thanks so much for the post and direction. --- wrote: > Perhaps this has already been posted but I thought > Mc's fries were safe... at this web site for > Mcs USA ingredients it clearly says that the > fries contain wheat ingredients! Guest guest
In this case, forget reading their lists. All you need to do is look directly at the ingredient list that I cut-and-pasted here and you will see that they contain wheat. They obviously haven't updated/corrected their lists yet. Guest guest
I know what you mean...my two-year-old SillyYak loved their french fries...and it won't be easy to reason with him to get him to understand that they're off-limits now I've been getting sick (with the glutenized pains/etc. in my stomach) for the past few months when I've snitched some of his McD's french fries, but I chalked it up to being a result of something else or just paranoia! I agree...I wonder how long they've been non-GF and just how much to trust them now. Very, very disaapointed here tonight I sent off a complaint to them too, and I hope that many others do the same thing. C

Boardwalk style fries (fried in peanut oil) are my favorite. In my region, we have a newish chain--Five Guys Burgers and Fries which has safe (as safe as you can get in a restaurant, anyhow) fries, fried in peanut oil. They don't cook anything else in the oil. Some Subways now serve Boardwalk Fries, and there's a Boardwalk Fries restaurant franchise I often see in food courts. I don't react to refined peanut oil (despite being peanut allergic), but I'm not as sensitive as kids who develop the allergy in childhood are. I can't have soybean oil, though, no matter how well refined. ygg

Guest guest
It is bad- I honestly think that they changed their fries almost 2 months ago. I am extremely sensitive (DH) and my son was constantly complaining of an upset stomach. We ate there once a week after football practice. I've been watching the site for weeks waiting to see. I will definately email them. Thanks- Melisa > > > > Never mind, I finally got it to show up. This SUCKS. > > >
