Re: Neopets Islandberry Crunch

Hello...I am the one who first posted here about this cereal. I had called GM before posting to make sure that it is GF. The lady I spoke with there was very knowledgeable and I felt secure with her assurance that it is GF. Another reason that I feel confident about it is that there is no little disclaimer about this product saying that it is produced on shared lines, etc., which I am very sure that they'd add if it was a problem. We've eaten quite a large amount of it in our household with absolutely no adverse reactions.C

I have quick and obvious reactions (gastronomically)to Gluten, and

again, no problems after an entire box in 1 week.

I ate my first bowl last night - no problems. I usually get violently ill with V/D several hour after gluten exposure.pjs_21030 wrote: I have quick and obvious reactions (gastronomically)to Gluten, and again, no problems after an entire box in 1 week.paul>> This is what I was hoping to hear. I just called GM after reading this (our first box was sitting on

the counter waiting to be opened) and was told that if none of the

listed ingredients contain gluten, then it has no gluten. She said

the label will also account for any cross contam from other items

run ahead of it on the same line. As always, she said always read

the labels with each new purchase because the formulation or the

cross contam issue could change and would be reflected on the label.

She made me quite comfortable that it is gluten free at this time!!

Thanks so much for all the posts about Neopets. I found them in my

local store and my 2 kids love them! I was able to take advantage of

a General Mills special to buy 4 boxes and get $6 off of the grocery

bill. Plus there was an in store coupon for $1 off if you bought three

boxes. I came home with 4 boxes and my kids are happy.
