Exacly! I think a lot of people are curious about things but aren't the

type of person to just blurt out the question. So, the women here have an

answer without having to ask...and the men here finally have someone who had

the balls (hehe) to say it out loud. I have a sneaking suspicion that the

men who read 's post feel just a little bit less freakish now, and

that's always a good thing. I think we Americans are crippled by body

shame, and I think that's one of the major reasons for the problems we have

with obesity, bulimia, anorexia, drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, sexually

transmitted diseases, and depression in general. I personally feel that

this country would be a lot more mentally healthy, though probably a lot

more chilly, if we threw out all the fashion magazines and walked around

naked.

Don,

I'll throw my thoughts in on this subject. I believe we are an open

community, and we discuss everything here. I can remember several months ago

I started a stream about breasts, size, reduction, the kind I would like to

have (perky was what I opted for). This became an in depth discussion (maybe

to in depth?). I do not think anyone was offended. The predominant female

communtiy talk about everything here, breasts, butts, periods, sex after

surgery, etc. I see no difference in me talking about my breasts, or the

size

of my butt, or discovering that he's well endowded. As a matter of fact

I recall one NWH meeting where several of the female community (I will not

mention names, you know who you are) talked privately about the male

anatomy.

We were curious, does that get fat too? Does it loose width, etc... Not

something I would normally throw out to the whole communtiy, but certainly

something I have wondered about... (blush...)

I think the main point here is that when you are in a group of people who

all post with varying degrees of sensitivity, you have the right to pick and

choose what you will read. I know that I do the same. I get bored reading

certain people's posts for various reasons. Instead of complaining about

them, I just press the all-powerful delete key and don't subject myself to

that which makes me uncomfortable. I think we all need to take the

responsibility of being our own censors. You can't imagine how many people

have approached both me and to tell us that out of all the people who

post here, they look forward to reading OUR posts. As soon as they see our

name, they click on our posts because we have interesting things to say to

them. I totally agree that our style is not to everyone's liking. I

appreciate that, and I respect that. I feel that it is our responsibility

to accurately portray the content of our messages in our subject lines so

that the people who don't like the subject can choose to push that delete

key. I don't feel, however, that we should choose not to say something that

we feel may help someone else or entertain someone else or even just amuse

ourselves simply because there are a few people out there who don't have the

common sense to delete what they feel may be offensive to them.

I agree with you to a point. I do believe that the subject was worth

discussion for some on the list to understand, but I do think there are a

couple of people who go a little overboard for my likes. We don't need to

know details, such as why he was waiting for here tongue piercing to heal or

that he masturbated that morning. You can discuss a subject without those

little details. Maybe we are old prudes, but if these are norms today, I am

glad I am a prude.

Jo and all,

I don't know if Lyssa is even home but since I am moderator I will

address this since it is getting out of hand. First off I do think that

s post could have been toned down just a tad. I love reading his

posts and his attitude but we must remember to be respectful of each

other. Yes Don could deleted the email but lets just try to repsect

each other. Don expressed his opinion and it should just have stopped

there. Instead this thing is going on and is not good for the list. If

you must discuss it futher please do it off list. This way not everyone

has to be pulled into it. I was hoping that this would blow over but it

isn't. Lets just try to keep things a little cleaner the next time. I

am not trying to censor anyone just trying to keep things on a friendly

level.

Hey now, we don't all ONLY think with our penis. In all honesty, I was

married and seemed happy with everything so I didn't think it mattered

to her...But there is a part of me, because of our society, that made me

have that nagging insecurity about it. I'm overcoming it though. I find

that life is 'therapy' for me.

Most women think like you.... looks, size, etc does not matter... this

includes me. I went out with some pretty UGLY guys when I was younger,

because they were really nice guys.... BUT men don't think like that. They

think with their penis and that's why they think that size does matter! LOL!

Now, I know a friend of mine (female) use to think like the guys do too, but

she finally met a not so attractive guy that is really nice and with me

pushing her to take a chance with him she is happily engaged.

Actually, Joni...The penis itself doesn't get fat on it...Just around it...I

don't believe it loses width...At least I hope not! :) Just for the record

if anyone has any penis questions I'll answer what I can. *giggle*

Re: NOT OT - My Penis - The 'Touching' Story

(blush...)

This is absurb... if I wanted to keep reading these messages which seems like

a shiiting contest.. I'm sure I could find some room on the net...

come on guys.. enough..

let's stop all the fighting and kiss and make up and end this bull... I enjoy

reading all the posts.... and I'm no prude.... but this is out of control

now... this is a WLS group and we all share and ask questions... sometimes a

bit too much detail is not a good thing...sometimes not enough detail is a

bad thing... my personal opinion is that in this case it was too much detail

and has offended some people... opinions were shared about it and it has now

become a pissing contest back and forth...

I agre with the others.. let's get back on track...

BTW... finally after 3 1/2 weeks..I stepped on the cale and lost 4 pounds...

YIPPEEEEE!!!!

Well first of I just want to say that I AGREE WITH DON AND JO. After I read

's post I said to Jeff that I thought it was great that had the guts

to post what you did and to help some of the guys on the list feel that they

are not alone but I also felt that there are things better left unsaid. I was

also a little offened but the e-mail Jeff sent in reply. I'm glad we can all

talk about all aspects of life before and after WLS and how our bodies change

but I do feel that it all can be said with a little more maturity.
