Guest guest
Before I start I just want to say that Dr was amazed that he was refered to as a leading rosacea researcher by the NRS.He has been involved in a little research but only in one aspect of the condition and I will get to that later. Like Dr Nase,Dr powell said that there are lots of different types of cea and he agreed with me that in the future there will be new names added on to rosacea to describe each type. The one thing that research has proven that we all have in commen are excessive amounts of demodex mites.Demodex mites are the only research that he was involved with in the past and he is also involved in the research that was granted by the NRS to Maynooth College in Dublin.I cant say that Dr. had any- thing interesting or new to say to me.He said that demodex mites are not the cause of rosacea but they do exacerbate the condition.I talked to him about all of the different things that people in the group have tried from antihestimines to diet to different potions but he had no input there. He was shocked to hear that people were using clonidine.Im sorry if any of you were expecting more but to tell you all the truth I knew in my heart that this man would not know something new.He did put me on a drug called Trimethoprim.I have checked the search but no one using it.Anyone know anything about this drug. It is in Bactrim, Septra etc. - another option for rosaceans if the other antibiotics didn't work.
