Fall Outing September 30th, 10 - 5 Salem MA

I have added a fall outing sign up list to the database on the main OSSG New

England site. If you are interested in attending put your name/email, and #

of people attending. Based on feedback it will be on Sunday September 30th

in

Salem, MA. Not sure which park yet. I'll look into this a bit more and find

out about parking, directions, etc. I put from 10:00 - 5:00. I also think

that rather than try to organize food/drinks it should be bring your own.

I just checked the database and 8 people have signed up so far! Way to go. If

anyone does not know how to sign up here are instructions, or I can sign you

up myself (which ever seems easier)... All you have to do is go to

and it will bring up the groups you are registered for, then go

to OSSG-NewEngland, click on Database, and then click on fall outing, and a

new record....

The website stated Picnic Area. I assume this means tables... I'll see if

there is a number I can call, and maybe get detailed information.

I think #2 is good...Can't go wrong for free...but does it have a picnic

area or are you forced to eat from their refreshment stands? I'm game for

number 2 or 3...5 Dollars parking isn't bad. It's just a good idea to make

sure there are picnic tables and the such.

Salem for our outing. I have found 3 parks, two of which I have included a

link, so you can check it out. The 3rd park (which was the one I was

thinking

of in the first place, does not have a web link).

1. Winter Island Park. This looks like a pretty cool park, but has a $10.00

parking fee on the weekend. Historic Fort Pickering and Lighthouse, beach,

boat launch, pier, picnic area and camp sites May through October.

2. Salem Willows Amusement Park. This looks pretty good as well. Shaded

park,

scenic harbor views, public pier with harbor cruises. Beaches, children's

rides, amusement games, food & refreshments. March to October, 10 am -11 pm.

going to meet, provide directions, setup rides for those that don't drive,

etc.
