Every time someone put something together, we usually went out for a bite to eat...I'm open for anything really, but I think eating should be our last thing to do, yet we want to be able to accommodate everyone. There are some who have difficulty walking due to health issues, so hiking may not be a good choice....I had thought of having a cookout this fall, but we're in the process of selling our house/buying a new one, and have NO IDEA where we'll be living! If we get in a house somewhere before the snow comes, I'd be happy to have a gathering! ...no guarantees all the furniture will be there, but think of all the room we'll have! I dunno really....maybe do a picnic type thing where everyone brings something, maybe at a local park type place or something? This way, you're not under any time frame's etc., centralized location? As far as the gathering...I'd prefer something like a picnic where we all bring something healthy and yummy...We can still call it a 'whale watch' though. *grin* I just think it'll be better for anyone who may be preop and can't get around easily and it's more affordable for anyone that has a family and wants to bring everyone to meet the gang.
