Sandy,

1) We basically choose colors and themes that would match most of

their clothes. If you paint it make sure to seal it often!

2) We only avoided clothes with collars. I never made any other

changes to clothing. After the first few days sweating wasn't much

of an issue for our kids.

3) If people would stare I'd just go right up to them and

say " She's cute isn't she? " I didn't mind answering questions as

long as they were phrased nicely. I refused to answer " What's wrong

with your baby? " I'd just say " Nothing. What's wrong with you? "

But I am kind of a smarta$$.

4) I kissed the top of the head and the cheeks. Actually I kissed

the band a lot too

Hi Sandy,

I can't help you w/question 1, as we didn't paint our dd's band.

I dressed my dd lighter than my other babies when she was banded. Just

check her through the night and make sure she's not cold. Her body

temp will adjust to her band. Yes, it does get easier to kiss their

little faces once they grow into their band.

Sandy,

#1) Good thought process. You can always go with a light background

and stickers over it. That way you can change the stickers when you

want to.

#2)Dress them lightly during the adjustment period, when the sweating

stops or she feels cool then add to it. Her body will slowly adjust,

but you should always layer because they ill get hot sometimes.

#3)People can be rude and that is sad. I tried to use our outings as

a way to educate people on plagio. Think how great it would be if

each of us saves just one baby from going through this. You can also

do what we did. We had fun. I bought Dominick t-shirts with plagio

sayings on them to wear and of course now he has a plagio band

graduate shirt to wear. Here are two sites that sell t-shirts.

#4) You will get more and more used to the band being on. After a

while it becomes part of them. Dominick's band probably got as many

kisses as he did,lol.

Thank you, everyone, who responded to my questions.

Last night, Sydney and I started getting sick. We're both pretty

sick today. I took her to the ped - it's a virus. So her fever was

high, then no symptoms, then the day after she is very congested and

coughing. It's her first time being sick - it's so hard to see my

little baby feel so bad. I feel like it's my fault because I

dressed her so lightly the past few nights that her immune system

got depressed and she got the flu

Anyway, I tried to snuggle her throughout the night (she woke up so

many times) and it was tough with her hard helment against my arms.

Sigh.

By the way, Carol, I'm late in jumping in but I am so happy you made

your decision - congrats. Dominick will one day realize how much

you have done for him.

Thank you. Also don't blame yourself for Sydney getting sick, it's

that time of the year. Dressing her lightly won't do it. It is always

so hard when they are so little and get sick and then where do you

have to go...the doctors where all the other sick people are. I swear

sometimes I can bring Dominick in to the peds for his well checks and

three days later he is sick, drives me nuts. Hope little Sydney feels

better and you too.
