Guest guest Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Well, those are rotten choices! Shall I eat the terminal one or the fatal one??? L What brands are you looking at? We can all look for others… Laurie lbilyeu@... Thanks what brands do you buy? Quote
Guest guest Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 I guess I would go for the ones with the bad for you oil, but make sure to only purchase them as a special treat once in a great while. Maybe you could find healthier options that are not exactly a potato stick but evoke the same feeling and taste enjoyment for a more frequent snack? I used to get these (brown?) rice sticks, like mini bread sticks, that were pretty healthy and very satisfactorily crunchy. Wish I could think of the name. > My kids love these and i have to make a choice and am looking for an > opinion. one brand is made at the same plant and run on same > equiptment as pretzles. the other brand is made with partially > hydrogenated oil. one is healthy and is probably contaminated, the > other has dedicated lines and is full of bad oil::?? Guest guest Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 hi there, have you ever tried " tarra stix " ? they are really good, they taste exactly like potato stix, they have taro and sweet potato in them, and they are colored with beet juice. I like them, i buy them for snacks in my lunches. I get them at my health food store. I found them because i am allergic to potatoes due to a birch cross-reactivity allergy. > > I guess I would go for the ones with the bad for you oil, but make > sure to only purchase them as a special treat once in a great while. > Maybe you could find healthier options that are not exactly a potato > stick but evoke the same feeling and taste enjoyment for a more > frequent snack? Guest guest Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Yes, PikNik I just found at KMart and that was the " bad " one i was referring to, although they seem to be clearly GF. I have been spending a fortune on these Shoestring Potato Stix from a company called e-good health. They are so good, not at all greasy but the contamination may be an issue, and they are not cheap. French's is too greasy for us. Any other options?? > > DH loves those things! I'm sure we get the really unhealthy ones - PikNik. Guest guest Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 If it were my kids I would probably buy the ones on dedicated lines, but they sure wouldn't eat them often. Or, I would call on the other brand. If they could convice me that they do an excellent and complete job of cleaning, and there was very little risk for cross contamination, I might give them a try. Good luck with your choice. (not sure really what a " potato stick " is though) Molly --- mrsjlegasse wrote: > My kids love these and i have to make a choice and > am looking for an > opinion. one brand is made at the same plant and > run on same > equiptment as pretzles. the other brand is made > with partially > hydrogenated oil. one is healthy and is probably > contaminated, the > other has dedicated lines and is full of bad oil::?? > Thanks > > what brands do you buy? > > > > __________________________________________________ Quote
