Individual comment is fine but when we propose our homegrown standard it must be done professionally. It should originate from a unified coalition of Texas EMS stakeholders. Without an established or mandated standard Texas has the most liberal (see, it isn't a 4-letter word) prehospital practice in the nation at the moment, so it should be Texas taking the lead. And I agree with you 100% now is the time to unite and come together. We need to send a loud unified message that the bar in Texas is set high for a reason. That reason is patient care. If we send that unified message I believe you are correct in that the rest of the nation will benefit from it.
