Guest guest
Hello, this is Tara ky's mom. I have a chondondrum for any/all of you. Sometimes I cannot decipher between bad behavior (intentional) and residual effects from ASD. Example: Ky has a bad habit of mouth stuffing when she eats. (don't know why) It annoys the daylights out of me and, quite frankly, is disgusting to watch. Anyhoo, I was admonishing her for this at dinner tonight and was making her wait to take another bite. She finished with one mouthful and had a bite on her fork which she put in her mouth. No problem. I got up to leave and take my plate to the sink, as soon as I did, she shoveled every last morsel on her plate into her mouth. What possible satisfaction is gained by doing this? I cannot get her to stop and I am afraid she will choke. How much of this is ASD and how much is open defiance? Anyone? Anyone...Bueller Bueller. (God I am such an eighties woman!)
