I found that I got the exact same side effects at the end of rounds when I used DMSA, 25 mg every 4 h, or DMPS, 25 mg every 8 h. Because of the different timing I think that DMPS is twice as potent as DMSA. I don't know if Andy or anyone else would agree with me, that was just my experience. I would start low with the DMPS and increase until you find your tolerance level. > If I wanted to use DMPS for week-long rounds would > you recommend a lower dose? > I would try DMPS in 3 day rounds until you find the dose that feels right. Once you find that dose I think it's ok to use the same dose for week long rounds. I find that end of round side effects are exactly the same (at the same dose) whether the rounds are 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months (and I don't get any side effects on round as long as I don't miss doses). I found that taking DMPS at 6 h intervals feels better for me than 8h. > I do have some lead (and I'm also chelating my daughter who has quite > a bit of lead and extremely high copper), so I would probably > alternate use of DMPS and DMSA/ALA. Guest guest Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Sorry to barge in, but are you taking molybdenum? This helps with keeping copper normal during chelation. > > > > Hi, > > > > I've been taking 100mg DMSA and 65mg ALA 9 times/day in slightly under > > 3 day rounds, though lately, I have dropped the ALA in hopes of > > getting my high copper down. > > > > I'm seeing a new doctor who might be willing to prescribe compounded > > oral DMPS for me. Yes, in fact I might be toxic in molybdenum because I've taken so much for so long. My latest hair test has it at .31 with a ref range of ..028-.056, so it is way off the red end. I have read the bits about copper in both Amalgam Illness and Hair Test Interpretation repeatedly and tried to follow the suggestions. My daughter's latest hair test copper was 2000 (not a typo). W. I would guess you already tried zinc and all that. > > > > Sorry to barge in, but are you taking molybdenum? I've done 58 just under 3 day rounds since May '05. All had DMSA. 33 had ALA also. I have tried zinc, molybdenum, bile stimulating supps, low copper diet, no copper in supps, tested water, ... Still have hair copper of 120. W. Quote

Guest guest Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 What about amino acids. Do you supplement with these? some may help to the body to retain/absorb copper. Worth looking into. Quote
