Has anyone else noticed this too? I never gave it a thought but my hair is so thin now. Yes Annette, my hair has been coming out for quite some time now. I used to have really thick hair, but not anymore. It's broken and so frizzy. I have read in Devin Starlanyl's book that hair loss can be a symptom of Fibromyalgia. My doctors say it's more likely caused by my lack of a Thyroid, vitamin deficiencies and stress. I think it's a combination of all of the above myself. {{{Hugs}}} Jacqui Jacqui McCallister Age: 39 Dx'd with FMS: 1995, but symptoms since 1984 Additional Illnesses: Papillary Thyroid Cancer spread to lungs, Intra-Occular Migraines, TMJ, Allergies, Periodontitis, Mitral Valve Prolapse, IBS, Arthritis, Possible MPS and CFS, Osteopenia, Bunions, Heel Spur, Light/Smell/Sound Sensitivties, Edema, Orthostatic Hypotension, Insomnia, Depression, Panic Attacks Location: Ridgeview, West Virginia USA Divorced, no kids. Guest guest
I also have the same problem. My hair used to be long and thick, but it is thinning and breaking off. I've asked my doctor about this, because it is happening at an alarming rate. He said that it was my bad liver that was causing this, but maybe it's a mixture of the liver and fibro? Guest guest
Stress, depression, as well as a plethera of different medications can cause your hair to fall out. Mine falls out in chunks...Looks like tumbleweeds in the bathroom some days! Missy

Guest guest
Everytime I wash my hair, it comes out in handfulls. Luckily it is not too thin yet. Guest guest
Since I've seen a couple of people bring up liver problems, and since most of us are on medications that aren't great for our livers, I wonder if anyone else here is on milk thistle to help keep their liver from becoming further damaged? My liver values had gotten pretty bad before I came across milk thistle, and since I've been taking it, they've gone completely back to normal. Most doctors don't know much about this, as it's an herbal remedy rather than an allopathic one, but you might want to consider asking your doctor what he knows about it or whether he's willing to learn so that he would ok your taking it. The liver is the only organ in the human body that can actually heal and regenerate, so as long as your liver damage isn't too far advanced, it can be built back up to normal. Might be worth a check! - At 07:07 PM 10/18/01 EDT, you wrote: >I also have the same problem. My hair used to be long and thick, but it is >thinning and breaking off. My non-fibro spouse would happily take a hair transplant from me. He's turning into a regular chrome dome. I told him that if he starts going for that silly comb over thing that some bald men do (in an unsuccessful attempt to cover up their baldness) - I'll have to take the scissors to him in the middle of the night. Guest guest
You mean we're supposed to be doing that EVERY day??? LOL!! I know what you mean about the fibro-fog - there are days when I have trouble remembering my name<g>. I hope that others find the milk thistle information useful - it's been a literal life-saver for me and for others on medications, etc that are processed through the liver. - At 09:43 AM 10/19/01 EDT, you wrote: >I am soo fog ridden that I can barely remember to brush my teeth >somedays *( >Allicia
Guest guest
Mine went the other way. When he lost all the hair on the top of his head (by the time he was 28! - it's a family thing), he just shaved his entire head. Said that he'd rather have it all gone that have it be so apparent that it had all fallen out so early ;-) - At 09:48 AM 10/19/01 EDT, you wrote: >ROFLMAOO lol....that is funny....some men tend to do this alot don't >they..lol I would have to do the samething if my man started doing this...lol > >Allicia

Guest guest
I loose a ton of hair! Thank god that I have thick hair or I would be bald by now......My hands actually get tangled with so much hair that falls out when I shower and then again when I get out of the shower and I comb it...I started getting bald spots 20 years ago and at that time the dr. said it was alepecia. Supposedly it is caused from stress! When the hair comes back in, which takes a good year it comes back so coarse and frizzy.I can always tell when I'm going to get a bald spot because my head starts to hurt really bad in that spot and then a few days later it just literally comes out in that area....I wonder if this is caused by the fibro or what?
