I have read several documents that mention them, but not 1 that explains who

they are are what they stand for, or what legal weight they carry.

Correct Mike! I'll send you a can of SPAM. It makes a great poultice for

cat bites. Seriously, is the swelling resolving? I hope?

Now LISTEN UP!! THIS INQUIRY WILL NOT BE REPEATED!

How many of you EMS Sweathogs are aware of the existence of The National

Association of State EMS Directors? How many are aware of where it's located

and

what its activities are? Who are Texas' delegates? What are its goals and

policies? How much influence does it have, and with whom?

Who gets to have input into its decision making processes? Can what it does

affect you?

The completed vision statement now reads: " The National Association of

State EMS Directors is the lead national organization for EMS, a respected voice

for national EMS policy with comprehensive concern and commitment for the

development of effective, integrated, community-based, universal and consistent

EMS

systems. " The heck you say! When was the election? Who were the other

nominees? What was the final vote tally? How did Florida and Ohio come in?

If asked, What is the " lead national organization for EMS? " how many of you

would have correctly identified NASEMSD? How many would have said NAEMT?

How many would have said NREMT? How many would have said, " Huh? " How many

would have said, " What? Who says? " Well, they say, of course.

Finally, who cares? Or does anyone really care? Should anyone care? And

if somebody cares, so what?

" Who's on first........? "

BTW, I have no bone to pick with the organization. I offer neither

criticism nor kudos. I'm just asking what you know about it and what you think

about

it, if you do know about it. Testing the awareness of the EMS Community, as

it were.
