Guest guest
To be honest Tim, I would not worry too much about the Rifampin too much if at all. There are studies that are on the PSC Literature site that keeps up for us that it flips some switch on the genes I think…PXR or something…but I can’t find it. probably knows exactly what I mean and could find it for you toute suite but I can’t. And I can’t remember what the benefit is either, so am I worthless today or what? And yes the general population should not be on a long term antibiotic, but I don’t know if those rules apply for PSCers. I am not taking Noah off of it because of preconceived ideas like that. No itch Noah has had is worth taking him off. His hands and feet were so bad at one point he would bleed and we are so not going back. Keep in mind, some PSCers take daily meds to prevent cholangitis attacks. This is just my 2 cents and hopefully others will pipe up with theirs.
