Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Fresh City adds gluten-free items to menu NEEDHAM, Mass. (Jan. 3) - The 15-unit Fresh City fast-casual chain, based here, has added several gluten-free items to its menu of wraps, sandwiches, soups and stir fries. Customers can find the gluten-free items by using in-store kiosks that dispense nutrition information. The rollout coincides with the Food & Drug Administration’s requirement that packaged foods now list ingredients that could trigger allergic reactions. Fresh City noted that as many as 3 million Americans may suffer from celiac sprue disease, an intolerance of gluten. > > > So what did you use for the Dora heads? > The Dora heads came from the Wilton's cake decoration aisle at my local 's. The ingredients list looked GF so I took a chance. (That is, I didn't call the manufacturer to hear a song & dance about 'the ingredients are gf but we can't guarantee...'.) Since we frosted the ice cream with a vanilla butter-cream frosting, the Dora heads, snowmen, and chocolate stars just stuck on with the frosting. Quote
