My brother-in-law is the same way. He was in the Gulf War and was a very active, healthy man. He is still active only because he has no other choice, but he is in constant pain. Guest guest
Are you saying that FM and Gulf War Syndome are related? I'd like to find out more about this as a very good friend is suffering from GWS. It's eating him up because he was a very active, healthy man and now he can barely function. >It's all the same disease. Fibro, MS, irritable bowel, Chrone's >disease, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic pain, Gulf war syndrome..

Guest guest
Hi Krystal I was puzzled to read your Email where you say that Fibor is not supposed to be progressive. I have had it all my life and it has progressed year after year in that I am more disabled than I was a year ago. Each year something else developes and other things get worse. So I can only say that it is progressive. I hope this helps in your understanding of the condition. Guest guest
I am not saying that you don't have fibro, I was just asking what makes them think you have MS? I was just curious as to what is making them suspect MS. Did they do an MRI? Or are they going to? Certain medications can make your skin itch even though there is no rash or allergy. By electrical pain do you mean like an electrical shock? Did they tell you which of your symptoms they think are MS related? Guest guest
The criteria for dxing MS.........visual loss, sensory loss or numbness, non-coordination of limb and gait and speech difficulties. Radiological and laboratory ...........analysis of cerebrospinal fluid and visual evoked potentials which measure the electrical response to repeated visual stimuli to detect optic neuritis. An MRI scan that produces at least four white-matter lesions. This comes from ls of Neurology, July 2001, International Journal of MS Care. Is any of the above related to Fibromyalgia? I'm just asking, because I don't know. Does Fibro strip your nerves of it's outter coating? Rhonda Re: Hi everyone !/Krystal > -I agree Lorraine ! It IS progressive ! Guest guest
Rhonda, Yes I very much agree with you...especially with Lyme disease. I had a friend whom was diagnosed with MS and come to find out all along she had Lyme Disease. Here are a few links for ya'll to check out and read. I went to my Rheumy and DEMANDED!!! a Lyme test...she wouldn't give it to me...and I told her it was my blood and I will choose what tests I will give for it...and she finally gave it to me. I think it is kinda ironic that doctors refuse to give certain kinds of tests....just a lil thought for an evening.Hope ya'll are feeling decent..if not good.
Guest guest
How did the diabetes just go away? When they did your MRI, did they inject you with anything? They would have injected it into your arm. MS can be active and may not produce any symptoms, but there *will* be a lesion either on your brain or spinal cord.
