Whack one of the docs on the head and demand to have your adrenals tested.

He won't do it go to the next...

I might not be right... .but you were very hyper.... and that can lead to adrenal fatigue.....

I went through the same BS. I was in storm.... Not being able to sleep sucks.... it does something to your head and your body gets to the point where it just can't go....

icky... don't even like thinking back to those days..... For me, my brain never shut off... it went 24/7

..... so.... did they tell you why you are hyper? I didn't see that they checked antibodies... to determine if this is a Hashi hyper swing or Grave's.... or something else... for me it was a something else....

As the thyroid levels come down with the meds, that 'manic' stuff will slack off.. but it does take some time for the stuff to slow down, how long since you've been on the blockers?

In the mean time... are you at least laying down quietly to allow your body some time to rest even if it's not able to go into sleep mode and repair stuff?

Oh... sorry... Hi, ... welcome.... I just got animated when I read your post..... Same kind of crap was done to me... Symptoms being ignored for too long....

I have what you might call

total, complete, 100% insomnia. Due to two very

bad doctors, I wound up in the hospital emergency room because of it.

I do so understand how you

feel, having been through this.. mind you , I was a bit more lucky as my Drs.

would not give me any medication at all … in spite of my being desperate. And I

am so glad, now I have seen the way some of my friends have b3een made very ,

very sick with the medications, and one who is ill on them but even worse when

she tries to come off, shaking uncontrollably to the point of total exhaustion ,

poor woman.

I have found a kind of cure.

I have a radio by my bedside with earplugs ( if you haven’t got a partner you

don’t need those !) and I have the radio on, just loud enough to hear.. and I

listen to it.. and I know I sleep as there is always a point where I realise I

have missed big chunks or I have woken in the middle of another programme

! Give it a go.. it isn’t the best

answer, but it works for me , and I am getting programmed to sleep more and

more ! It keeps you from worrying about your heartbeat, temperature , restless

legs etc etc ..

Hugs,

Dianne

Wow.... I'd forgotten about that!!! I did that for a long time... turning it so that you can just hear it, and I used ear pods, so that I could curl up on my side... I listened to audio books and radio programs... they took my programs off the air.... It was radio mystery stories... Well, not off the air.. but to a funky time... like 8 pm instead of 10 pm.... so it didn't work for falling asleep time anymore.... I recorded a lot of them and made MP3s out of them so that I could play them when I want... I have them on CDs... I should dig them out again and listen just for fun.... I broke my ear pods and head set so I'd have to use speakers now.... still works for entertainment.. but not for sleeping...

funny the things that come to mind reading stuff here.....hehehheheehehe

- I don't know if you've tried antihistimines or not but

Night time Tylenol and Night Time Excederin have benedryl in them or

try just Benadryl. Benedryl usually knocks people right out. I have

a rx for Atarx (antihistimine). I used to have a sleep problem

until I started on Armour Thyroid. Know I take a half of the Atarax

istead of 2 (50 mg.). Hope this helps.

Believe me, I know these prescription sleeping pills are bad. I went

through the OTCs first. They have no effect whatsoever. But I have to

sleep. That's why I've been trying all of the prescription sleeping

pills the doctors have been throwing at me.

A few more things that do not work at all:

Diphenhydramine (benadryl)

doxylamine succinate
