They use ACE inhibitors in France just like everywhere else. In fact, one of

the popular ones in Canada, where I live, is from a French pharmaceutical

company. It's called Coversyl here.

French doctors do pay a lot of attention to blood pressure. In fact, French

nephrologists are well-known to prefer controlling blood pressure in

hemodialysis patients without drugs, by removing more fluid over a longer

treatment time. There have been studies on this. This is a practice that

might be adopted elsewhere, as it does seem to be beneficial, if it weren't

that longer treatment times cost more. It's easier to just prescribe a blood

pressure pill. Of course, from the patient's point of view, longer dialysis

times may not be something very desirable.

Since the late 1960's, IgAN has traditionally been treated more seriously in

France than probably anywhere else except Japan, given that it was first

identified by Dr. Berger.

Yes, those French doctors monitors carefully hypertension. I don't

know if ACE inhibators exist, or even if they are commercialize, but

some lot-of-prescribed stuff are Amlor and Renitec. I don't know

their active principe, I am not a pharmacist ;-) If I need to do

pharmacy to know that sure that I'll be quickly pissed of since there

are lot of maths....

You say " those French doctors " , but different country, diffrerent

culture. Sure that on the subject of fish oil, French doctors are not

very open-minded.

Surely, going there I learn a lot : I confront two methods, two

systems, two ways to see the patient.

I can say (since I am partially deaf) that in France, you don't have

this culture of " patient éclairé " . Pierre, French-speakers, help me

please to translate it into English !!

It means that the more knowledge the patient has,the more he'll be

able to take care of himself and the less he'll fear. I believe a lot

of this way to take care.

Unfortunately, in France, doctors have plenty powerness. They

consider patients as they should obey like children. Fortunately

though, thanks to a patient like you, there is an interesting
