Guest guest
Yes, we do have a child...a 4 1/2 year old son. We haven't said anything to him yet because he wouldn't quite understand, but I'm sure it will be hard on him when both Mommy and Daddy are in the hospital. My mom and dad live here, as do his parents, so we've got plenty of help and support for afterwards. My parents will most likely be taking care of our son while we're out of commission, and I am very thankful for that!

Guest guest
I'm sure I'll have that problem, too, ..not being able to pick him up. At 4 1/2 my son already weighs 60 pounds! He's solid, I tell ya. :-) Yes, our transplant center will be able to remove my kidney with the laproscope thank goodness. I've wondered, though, what kind of scar will my husband have? Guest guest
My scar starts about 2.5 inches from my navel and about 1 inch above. It goes to the center of my pubic bone both vertically and horizontally. It is impressive. Have you gone to http://www.johnfmartin.net/ yet? It is an excellent photo web on dialysis and transplant. I would think that you would want to see the transplant part. Re: tx update I'm sure I'll have that problem, too, ..not being able to pick him up. At 4 1/2 my son already weighs 60 pounds! Guest guest
! It's so good to hear from you. I was worried! How are you doing? It must feel good with the school year winding down. Guest guest
Kim Congradulations on a tenative date and best of luck. You are a wonderful person to give this gift of life. My youngest son gave my oldest son a kidney in November. Both are doing great. The receipent is a changed person, so much engery, and feels and looks great. The donor is just enjoying his brother's new life and the fact that he has a golfing partner back. This has been a spiritual event for our entire family and community. Your family is in our prayers. Guest guest
The scars are not bad. My two sons were swimming this week and had a great time comparing their war wounds. Brent the receipent is proud of his scar and as far as the donor, the receipent said the scar is more beautiful than a purple heart. Guest guest
Thanks for the update . I feel so much better knowing your virus is under control. You had me very concerned when we didn't hear from you in a while. I pray this next treatment will knock it out for good. I am glad you can have the treatment at home in a more relaxed environment. Guest guest
, I am doing great. They did a follow up lab and have found a little of the virus still sticking with me. I will be doing another treatment as soon as the med is in. It will be with a home healthcare group. Therefore I can just sit in my easy chair and read or watch the soaps. My creatinine went from 1.7 to 1.5 in that last lab too. I am quit hopeful for a cure on the BK end. Thanks for asking, Re: tx update ! Good to hear from you. I had not seen an email from you in a while and was concerned to know how treatment for the BK virus was going. You doing ok?
