Guest guest Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Dean, you are very fortunate. I am having a terrible time on DMSA and am trying to reach the point you are at. I have tried 12.5 mg and am simply getting intolerable symptoms and have had to stop. Why don't you try 25 mg for an entire week and then a week off and see how you go and then perhaps attempt to increase the dose later on to 50 mg when you feel confident enough on 25 for longer periods. Many people do not even go beyond 25 mg, they stay on that dose comfortably and then add ALA. I got carried away at one point when I was chelating and coping on 25 mg and thought I would cope and pushed things right up to 50 mg and got hurt after 3 days very badly. It is hard to gauge how it will go because on some rounds more mercury is chelated than other rounds and it can change. If you're going good on 25 mg, just try it for a few more rounds and perhaps for longer periods before attempting 50 mg. If you try 50 mg, take it day by day and if you notice something isn't right, STOP. I didn't and I pushed myself to go into another day and I copped it. Now I can't even do 12.5 mg. I do not know why, but I guess because I used garlic and redistributed mercury all over the place, I am now having problems with anything I take. > Hi All, > > I did 2 Rounds DMSA at 12.5mg for 3 days on each. > Then Round 3 at 25mg for 3 days. > Then Round 4 at 17mg (and included some Adrenal support, which removed a feeling like I was on speed - too much energy) > Then Round 5 at 25mg. > > Now I'm on Round 6 at 25mg. So for how long can I continue the round? TK--- I would suggest a week and see how you do with that. If you go to longer rounds I suggest doing a number at that dosage before increasing dosage just like when starting out. Alos increases should not be more than 50% or less of what you are taking. Guest guest Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Dean, I would keep the round going as long as you are comfortable with dosing every 4 h, and as long as there are no problems. I've been taking DMPS continuously since Feb. I still don't want to stop 'cause I feel so much better 'on' as compared to 'off'. I'm at the same dose I started at last Oct. I find if I increase the dose I get more fatigued. I'm very grateful to Andy and all too. Guest guest Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Thanks TK and , I was prepared to continue the round and got caught up in something that caused me to forget the dose. So it seems that a deeper part of me decided it was time to stop! I'll wait a few days and start the next round at the same dose and carry it on a bit longer. Thanks, Dean ----- Dean, I would keep the round going as long as you are comfortable with dosing every 4 h, and as long as there are no problems. I've been taking DMPS continuously since Feb. So you if want to increase, your maximum increase should be 50% of 25 mg., or 12.5 mg. So your maximum new dose would 25 mg. +12.5 mg. = 37.5 mg. 50% is the upper limit of your increase, you might want to increase less than that. Another example, if your dose is 50 mg, your maximum increase should be 25 mg., so your new dose should be 75 mg. or less. Lynn Quote
