is there a way you can duplicate the seasoning in the rice mix to

make it low in sodium? I've done this with quite a few high sodium foods

and found it to help reduce my craving for them. Though I would probably

lose more weight if I quit figuring out how to eat stuff I shouldn't be

eating to begin with. LOL!

HI

I often get cravings for salty food myself. Luckily, since dialysis takes

care of it, I sometimes indulge on the day of my treatments.

I totally understand you. I have always loved potato chips, and now

being on the pred and with chips being high in sodium and all, I've

tried to cut it out of my diet....mostly.

But darn it, I still crave those chips! And unfortunately, I do

cave in from time to time.

Call me a sodium addict too. ; )

I can honestly say that my cravings for salty food have never once included

Marmite. Hot chips with salt and vinegar maybe, but never Marmite :)

I understand that I gave it up about 5-6 years ago. Lucky for me it

wasn't too bad after the first 6 months. I already used herbs and

spices in my food. It was just learning more. Now if I eat something

with too much salt I can tell after the first bite. Sorry your

boyfriend don't understand. My boyfriend more or less quit salt with

me. Niether of us cook with it and watch our intake. (He been great

all the way around). Most of my family knows that I am sodium

restricted and when I am over take that in some consideration. (my

baby sister is the best with this). They will put some aside that

dosen;t have the added sodium. Some where I have a list of herbs and

spices that can go well with different foods. When I find I can send

you a copy or repost it on my website if you like to try something

differnet.

Marmite is a form of spreadable savoury yeast extract. It is somewhat

of an acquired taste; the advertising plays on this fact by showing

that people either love it or hate it.

I love it on hot buttered toast.
