I've never fit in either, so why am I surprised that I have a son who doesn't either? > Considering I'm weird and Mike's most likely an Aspie, I wasn't surprised at all to have 2 kids that don't fit in. It's the 9 year old NT daughter that confuses the crap out of me. She wants to wear the latest styles, is worried about fitting in, thinks she needs a boy friend and has a MAJOR crush on Legolas. *sigh* the only part I understand is the crush on Legolas. ;o) Tina

I never liked snails or slugs. EWW!! I stopped trying to keep it under control. I was miserable trying to force myself to fit in and conform to society and family's ideas of normal. My ils are NOT happy with the change but I don't care. I'M happier now. And since I'm the one raising the autistic kids, I'll opt for my happiness over theirs. I just don't have time to worry about being " normal " anymore. Besides. I do have a book I'm trying to sell, and several short stories and eventually I'm hoping to have to do book signings (even though I'll hate every minute of it, it's a part of the job.) and aren't writers supposed to be eccentric?? ;o) I qualify! We have this running joke in the family that she'll probably want to be a cheerleader and then HOW will we ever relate? She's a sweet heart and a wonderful help around the house and an all round good kid, but I just don't understand her most days. Plus, with her being the only " normal " kid in the family, I don't have a lot of experience relating anyway. Tina

Guest guest
As my friend (guy) had on his T-shirt " Why be normal? " He was a quiet weird though. Well, now everyone here knows my horrible little secrete. LOL! Hello. My name is Georga and I am weird. Yes, I have been like this my entire life. No, I don't do drugs. Never did. However if my blood sugar level drops (I am hypoglycemic) and I eat something with sugar in it I will get much weirder. Just ask my husband. He said that the last time that happened I started to scare him. LMAO!!! No, I don't plan on changing. No, I will not lead the 12-step weird recovery program. Then why I am I here? Hell if I know. I thought that I could meet other weird people. No, I don't want help. Why should I conform? Conformity sucks! Yes, I will leave now. Sorry to have bothered you all. Uh... Should I share this? What the hell. That last incident where my blood sugar went a little nuts I came up with this poem a la " This is the House that Jack Built " after I discovered that Dakota (Toad) had bitten into one of my Power Bars (protien bars, sports nutrition, great for low blood sugar. I live off the things and protien powder) while it was still in the wrapper. This is the power bar that Toad bit This is the cat that sat on the power bar that Toad bit This is the piggie that weeked at the cat that sat on the power bar that Toad bit This is the girl that petted the piggie that weeked at the cat that sat on the power bar that Toad bit. I was going to go on but said he was getting scared. He said I was being weirder than normal. Something about it coming out of left feild and he never seen it coming. What? Just because he is an aspie I need to warn him before I do something weird? I think not!
