That really explains my Yahoo ID....I translated my name into Klingon. My husband does NOT find this weird. I think that says a lot > Don't feel bad, Georga. When I tried to sign up for a Yahoo id, I couldn't get any version of my name: Tina . So I got mad and used a name I made up for a charater in my fantasy novel (not published but still looking for a home) I don't think this is weird...but my husband thinks I'm nuts. He scored a 32 on the AQ test. He NEVER shops unless it's for soda because I rarely buy that and he has a serious caffiene addiction. He's an electrician though and has to do things the same way all the time. He drives me insane with the TV. If he's home, the TV is on, even if he's outside for hours at a time. I turn it off, he walks through the room, turns it on, and right out the door without even pausing to see what's on. Tina

Guest guest
Way-Hey, You could be talking about my husband here. He has photographic memory, absorbs information like a sponge and is higly skilled at well EVERYTHING. I swear he can turn his hand to anything, whether it be building a computer or making a blouse for me, you name it he can do it...although he say " I can't open a tin of beans with a banana'. He never boasts...so I will...he has 26 letters (qualifications) after his name. He isn't socially inept at all but he shy at first with people he doesn't know. He is full of 'useless' information, and you cannot argue with him because he remembers every single word so I always lose. Louisa

Guest guest
Georga, I've heard the author speak twice and she's amazing! You can see and hear her aspieness when she's talking about it. She took drama in high school and college, so she's 'acting' when she's speaking so she can get through it. She tells you she'll answer questions about aspergers after the conference, but don't expect her to be your friend! She knew her husband was the man for her when he told her she was strange, then asked her out again (Jacquie, made for each other like you and Marc!). She diagnosed herself when her daughter got diagnosed. Sue ----- Original Message ----- > > I picked up the book Pretending to be Normal and read it. It is written by this woman about what it was like growing up being an aspie without a dx and all that, how she adjusted, when she found out as an adult she was spectrum and all that. > > read it and said that he seen more of himself in there than he cared to admit to. Chances are very good that he is an aspie.
Guest guest
Hey, if someone tells you you are strange than asks you out again I would see that as a good thing. Means you didn't scare them off and they might have a chance of understanding.
