MedStar hires EMT-Bs

Looking for a job...

Hey folks,

Does anyone out there know of a 911 service in the DFW area (especially in the

northern areas) that hires people at the EMT-B level? I've been an EMT-B for

over 15 years (out of the industry for about 1 1/2 years now) and I am looking

to get back into the industry and possibly getting into a paramedic program as

well. I need more that a transfer service where I can use my training and

skills.

Any info will be a big help!!!

Thanx guys,

Jim H.

You might want to drive over to Fort Worth and try

MedStar. All the others, accept TLC and AMR are

transfer services. TLC runs Balch Springs And AMR just

signed a 5 year contract with Collin County, but with

that contract you also are the M.E.s Transport

service.

If you want to relocate, AMR in Wichita Falls, a 911 service, is always

looking for experienced EMS personnel. Also, Vernon College will be starting

the

Academy in January that teaches Intermediate and Paramedic. Just a thought.

TLC & AMR also do transfers along with 911. Lifeguard

is the form Dallas Ambulance and they have just moved

over to Farmers Branch area. Lonestar is on Rd

just off 635, and they do transferes and I think that

they also do 911 for Sasha (sp?) just north of

Garland, or they did. MedCare based in Irving is a

transport/special event service. Greater Dallas EMS

(located just down Hall St from Balyor) is a

transfer/special event provider. But, they are not in

a safe neighborhood...you may get your car broken

into. Ameritech is Euless is a good place to work.

They have new units and are kept in a good working

order. The owner does not believe in running " junk "

for ambulances.

The ME transport can be another world...saw some good

things while Dallas Ambualnce had the contract. Some

people don't like them, or could not stomach the smell

from some.

AMR fortunately does not do the ME transports in Collin County. We

did for awhile untill they could get another provider. Besides,

there's no medical necessity for dead, I don't think going for

celestial transfer would pay................................
