Guest guest
<<I label my soaps as following: Avocado Soap | (moisturizing) | Bayrum-Lime | scented Does this mean I need to do testing, even though you read how moisturizing avocado oil is on the suppliers discriptions?>> Yes, the minute you put " (moisturizing) " on that label you are turning it from a basic bar of soap that does nothing other then clean into a cosmetic. If you take that off of your label, it is soap. Just soap, nothing more & no more FDA strings. If you want to then walk the fine line you can tell people " Some people say Avocado oil is moisturizing " or " So & so reports in her books that it is... " because then you are not making a claim but merely a quote. It is a very fine line though that I would walk with caution. You could also change the labels to read " Handmade soap with Avocado Oil Added " You are still not making a claim, but it will make people curious & they will ask what makes that so great.
