Guest guest
, since she's only 7wks old I'm assuming she's not eating anything that would make her feel sick or gassy but are you? Milk, strawberries, broccoli??? I know that some babies are especially sensitive to these and more foods in mom's diet........it's just my first thought that she just doesn't feel too great and you are what makes her feel better. :-) Hang in there. I'm sure some of the others here will have some good suggestions too. Does she like the swing or bouncy seat or anything like that? They were sometimes a lifesaver for me when I needed to get something done and Drake was fussy. I know that some babies love them and others hate them! Or with all this discussion on the sling, do you have one and does it help? Take care, Fawn sahm to Drake (8-18-98)

Guest guest
on another list I am on, there is a couple people that found out their prenatal vitamins were causiing there babies to cry a lot and not sleep well. When Mikayla was first born i did not take my prenatal vitmains, but I started taking them, and then she started fussing, and was sleeping really restless. I quit taking them , and she was fine. I started taking them again a while later, and she was fussy and restless again. so I quit taking them again,a nd she is fine. I am not sure what is in them that can cause this, but there is definetly the possiblitie. I stay away from them, and now I just make sure I eat really healthy, and take a childrens chewable vitamin. Guest guest
, Blake has gone through this too, but at about 6 weeks. He just wanted to be held all day, and even then was crying. I also was feeding him all day long. It only lasted a couple of days. I'm sure there is a reason for it, maybe a growth spurt or something. Don't give up. I know it's hard to get stuff done, but a good friend of mine told me this: Don't complain about having to hold him/her. Before your know it they will be too big to hold and then they won't want to be held anymore. Try not to get frustrated. If it lasts more than a few days I would call your pediatrician.Tina and Blake 4-2-00 7 wk. old that will *not* nap Ok, I hope someone can give me some good suggestions before I go bonkers. Guest guest
, My suggestion is if you don't have a sling then you should get one. My dd was much the same way and never really slept longer than an hour and twenty minutes until she was about 4 months. She didn't sleep through the night until about 3 1/2. She now sleeps long hours and loves to sleep (she is 8). She wouldn't let anyone else comfort her until she was close to a year. She was a high-need baby. The best suggestion I can offer is to relax and go with it. Try to get her comfortable in a sling and just wear her. It could be just a phase she is going through but maybe not. With a sling you would be able to get more done. The more she sleeps during the day the better she will sleep at night. Letting her sleep in the sling could help you all get some more rest. For the past week, has been next to impossible, but it's gotten really bad since yesterday. She wants to be held every single minute of the day from about 8 a.m. til 8 p.m. By me and only me. No one else will do. I nurse on demand, so I think she's getting plenty to eat. The problem is that she will only fall asleep nursing. Most of the time I don't have a problem with it, but right now I'm finding that I can't get anything done because if I'm not holding her, she's crying. Her quiet, alert periods of the day are down to just a couple. She's not running a fever, I can't see anything wrong with her, she's still having good diaper output. She's just miserable. I think part of the problem is that she hasn't had any sleep except at night. Any suggestions? Guest guest
, I know exactly what you are going thru, if that helps lol! Sam (2/10/00) seems to go thru periods of this also, where for 2 or 3 days I just cannot put him down without him crying. He literally lives at my breast. This has happened a few times since he was born. I kinda just went with it, I don't have a sling (wish I did) and just tried to do what I could with one hand, only the stuff I absolutely had to do (like, did you ever try to make an ice cream cone with one hand? Try to make a pb & j with one hand? Try to screw the top on a sippy cup with one hand? Just few of the many, many things that have do be done during the course of the day.) Of course we can all type with one hand lol. These things can be done, but it takes a lot longer and it is more tedious. I empathize with you, wish I had some good advice for you. I just tell myself that these kind of days can't last forever (can they? lol). Good luck. Joan

If it lasts more than a few days I would call your pediatrician. > Tina and Blake 4-2-00 Oh, Tina, believe me, I know how fast they grow up! I just wish I could squeeze in, say 5 minutes, to actually go to the bathroom =) I think whatever it was might have passed because we got up this morning early (thanks to a wrong number at 6 a.m.), I fed her, changed her and held her and she's passed back out. She also fell asleep last night around 9, I woke her at midnight to be fed and then we went to bed. Babies are odd little creatures, aren't they? Guest guest
, I'm glad to hear that this has seemed to pass. It is funny how they are sometime. It would be nice if they could tell us what is really up with them sometimes. Tina and Blake
