OH, man, Pierre, I'd give you one of my kidneys if I could, but I'm afraid

it wouldn't do you any good. Isn't that funny? I always took for granted

I'd be able to donate a kidney or a " sliver of my liver " if anyone in my

family ever needed it, and now that's just not possible. I am glad your

dialysis went swiftly and pleasantly today.

About the job. I had an " interview " yesterday, except it wasn't

really an interview, it was more like, " When can you start? " , The lady who

interviewed me said she's only been in a supervisory position for a couple

of weeks, and she said I was the first person she'd ever hired. I will

start on Tuesday, provided my urine drug screen comes back negative for any

suspicious drugs, and it will. Here's the best part: One of the first

things she said to me was, " I don't lie, I don't cheat, and I don't

steal--and I don't do fraud either. " I just wanted to shout hallelujah!!!

That actually WAS a concern at my previous company. Anyway, this job is a

little less paperwork, and a little more patient contact, which is fine by

me. AND, if I understood her correctly, this job actually offers all the

flexibility that the last one promised and never delivered. So, I don't

think doctor's appointments will be any problem. I am SOOO excited! Now

that I don't have to start til next Tuesday, I'm having a bit of an extended

vacation. And my blood pressure is a little better these days.

I wish I had more to say regarding my actual kidneys, but since I

don't see DR. O til the end of the month, I have no idea whether I'm

improving or declining til then.

I thank you all for your good thoughts, prayers and wishes.

Early dialysis today

The phone rang at about 2 this afternoon, and it was a nurse. My first

thought was, oh no, they've got a kidney! It was just the dialysis centre

asking if wanted to come in early. No kidney, but at least it was nice to

get dialysis over with so early for a change :)

It went very well too. It always goes pretty well, but it was especially

easy today, for some reason, and the whole 3-1/2 hours went by really fast.

Another thing...

I told the nurses that if I could only have one wish, at the moment, I would

rather use it to make the Ottawa Senators win the Stanley Cup, rather then

to get a kidney :)

So, I may have jinxed myself for a while :)

Oh Pierre,

What a cliffhanger the first few seconds of that call must have been! I

know just reading hour post, I was crushed by the 3rd sentence. Here's

hoping that kidney gets here NOW!

Whadda guy.... I used follow the Stanley Cup religiously many years ago.

Back when many of the decent players all seemed to be named Pierre.

You are one devoted fan wishing for the Senators to win the Stanley Cup over a

new Kidney!

I will use my one wish for you to get your new kidney :-)

Pierre,

That is too funny! I'll bet you hope the kidney doesn't come during

tonight's or Sunday's games! :-) Can you watch the games if they're on

during dialysis time?

Well, Ottawa hasn't won the Stanley Cup since the original Senators of 1927,

so, that's got to come first :)

Yes, I've been watching them every dialysis night, if a game happens to be

on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays. Luckily, all season, those are the

nights of most games. Since the playoffs started, it varies. Every dialysis

chair has its own 20-inch TV hanging from the ceiling, with cable and

remote. So, can't complain as far as that goes. My biggest problem is that

I've often fallen asleep, only to be awakened by a big collective cheer when

they score a goal :)

Being in the profession that you're in, I was very sure that you wouldn't

have difficulties landing a job. Hope that this is the perfect one!

Congrats! Now try to relax and enjoy your remaining time off!
