One suggestion I would make is to track the timing of headaches to see if they always come at a certain time in relation to dose. I tolerated some headaches at first, but I was able to reduce them with a little troubleshooting. > The second round was kind of different, also very very mild > headaches, but kind of felt weak during the round. I should say that > a couple of times forgot to take the capsule on time and had to take > it half an hour later.. but still continued with the round.. also If you don't notice a problem from slightly late doses, you are probably okay. If it's longer than 1 hr late, you should stop the round. > several times took the DMSA right after meals.. probably it is not > the ideal... right! This sounds like possible dysbiosis stirred up either by DMSA and/or die-off effect from eating garlic. Does garlic usually give you symptoms like that? I have managed yeast problems with probiotics, natural antifungals, and diet (I avoid sugar, gluten, yeast, and some other things that cause problems). I did this for several years before I started chelation, but chelation stirred things up quite a bit. > I was planning on starting the third round, tomorrow, June 25.. > Should I go ahead and continue tomorrow with DMSA 12,5 mg.. or wait > one more day or a couple of days more.. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your comments and encouragement.. I am going to wait a few days before starting another round.. Actually it seems like something was stirred up.. for the last 3 days, besides the gases problem and digestive irritation(it looks like a mild intestinal flu), some old symptoms have come up again, some kind of stiffness in the abdomen area, it is like something is pulling in the liver / intestines area... I had my gallbladder removed 9 years ago.. I don't know if this has something to do with it.. I feel the two rounds on DMSA have stirred something... could somebody please answer this question: can chelation with DMSA aggravate existing symptoms? Thanks.. Have a good day, Michel > > i don't know about this symptom, except that i hear parents on the > autism group complain about it. perhaps someone else will comment. > > wait and see if anyone has anything to say. > > glad to hear that you are chelating safely. > > best wishes > > linda j >

Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your kind comments.. could you please tell me what dysbiosis is? Usually garlic does not give me symptoms like that. I am on a gluten-free, dairy-free, legume-free diet (the best bet diet recommended for MS)... You are right I didn't get that 'feeling of clarity' after the second round.. what do you mean by ' bounce back' after the second round? Actually, this morning, Sunday, the gases problems looks much better.. but as I mentioned to , some old symptom of stiffness / pulling in my abdomen area has reappeared for the last three days.. I don't know if it is MS related, liver or intestines.. I had my gall bladder removed 9 years ago.. Again I would like to ask you the same question.. can chelation with DMSA aggravate or re-awaken existing symptoms or old symptoms one has had? Thanks again for your patience.. I think I am going to wait a few more days before starting another round to see how I am feeling.. Have a good day, Michel > This sounds like possible dysbiosis stirred up either by DMSA > and/or die-off effect from eating garlic. Guest guest
Hi Michel, I had quite a bit of bloating and GI discomfort (gurgling, gas pains) on my first few rounds of DMSA only. What is your yeast protocol like? And yes, my understanding is that chelation can exaberate symptoms. Do you have a copy of " Amalgam Illness " ? in Illinois, kids & I just finished round 26. Dysbiosis refers to overgrowth or imbalance of yeast and/or bacteria in the gut. Commonly goes along with mercury. Can also be stirred up by use of DMSA. If you haven't had serious problems of this sort in the past, then hopefully things aren't too bad. But you may need to do something more - like probiotics (acidophilus and other good bacteria to balance your gut) and diet (try yeast free, sugar free, fruit free, low sulfur). If that doesn't help, consider taking some antifungal or antibacterial agents. > You are right I didn't get that 'feeling of clarity' after the second > round.. what do you mean by ' bounce back' after the second round? > > Actually, this morning, Sunday, the gases problems looks much > better.. but as I mentioned to , some old symptom of stiffness / > pulling in my abdomen area has reappeared for the last three days.. I > don't know if it is MS related, liver or intestines.. I had my gall > bladder removed 9 years ago.. The gas and reaction to garlic sounded to me a lot like dysbiosis. I am not sure what you mean by " stiffness/pulling " in the abdomen. Do you mean bloating, distention? (I call it the Big Belly :-) That could also be yeast - or could have something to do with bile flow. Without a gall bladder, eating too much fat (and perhaps other foods) could cause some problems, I think. I am not very familiar with this. You may have to try some things (or possibly do some testing) to see what is going on. First you need more information. Google search will find more - try searching on " candida yeast symptoms " and see if that sounds like you. > Again I would like to ask you the same question.. can chelation with > DMSA aggravate or re-awaken existing symptoms or old symptoms one has > had? Thanks again for your patience.. Taking DMSA (or any chelator) can definitely aggravate symptoms, in my experience. Since you are pulling metals out of areas where they are causing problems, those problems may be stirred up in the process. > I think I am going to wait a few more days before starting another > round to see how I am feeling.. It can't hurt to wait a few days longer until you are feeling more comfortable. It's not easy to figure out exactly what's going on sometimes. Guest guest
Hi , 9 months ago I had a 'live blood test' and the naturopath told me that yeast is not a major issue for me.. there is some but she felt it is not very serious.. she told me according to the test that the oxidative stress is my major issue !! yes, I have the book 'Amalgam Illness' .. which page should I check for that particular subject? Michel, there shouldn't be *any* yeast in your blood. The fact that there is some shows it is an issue. You mentioned tightness of the abdomen - this is a classic sign of yeast overgrowth (rather than liver, kidney issues) > she told me according to the test that the > oxidative stress is my major issue !! Actually oxidative stress is all our major issue. Both mercury and yeast cause an enourmous amount of oxidative stress. Thats why the constant emphasis on things like Vit C, Vit E and the good minerals - Mag, Zinc, selenium etc. .

Guest guest
Hi , Thanks again for your input... yes, it may be dysbiosis.. actually I can feel the irritation even in my toungue..so it must be all the way in my digestive system! I am already taking probiotics, once a day.. maybe I should increase it?! also I found out that I had a bottle of grapefruit seed extract, so I started taking some yesterday.. I think it is an anti- fungal, right? do you recommend a particular anti-fungal suitable for vegetarians, in case you know one? As I mentioned to in response to her comment, 9 months ago in my 'live blood test' the naturopath told me that yeast/candida is not a major issue for me.. the oxidative stress is the major problem.. also following the advice of a member of another Yahoo List (the LDN one) I did several times the saliva test in a glass of water and it showed no candida at all.. (but of course this one is an empirical test) What natural anti-bacterial agents would you recommend? ( I guess grapefruit seed extracts would also be one of them) By stiffness / pulling, I don't mean bloating, it is a symptom I've been having for many years now ( I think it started after my gall bladder operation).. i feel something pulling in my abdomen, abnormal..I wonder if it has to do with the bile.. or simply some intestines irritation.. it does not happen always.. but it did reappear in these past days.. Thanks , your input sheds some light about the chelation process.. one positive thing I draw from all this.. is that something is happening.. it means DMSA is doing somehting! because after my hair test i didn't really meet the counting rules.. but some members here (especially JT) felt I do have a mercury problem, and I was advised to chelate and see what happens.. Thanks and have a good day, Michel > > > > The gas and reaction to garlic sounded to me a lot like dysbiosis. > > I am not sure what you mean by " stiffness/pulling " in the abdomen. > Do you mean bloating, distention? Do you have a white coating on your tongue? Or unusual redness? If you can get liquid probiotics, you might try swishing it around in your mouth before swallowing. If the problem is bacteria or yeast, that would help. > I am already taking probiotics, once a day.. maybe I should increase > it?! also I found out that I had a bottle of grapefruit seed > extract, so I started taking some yesterday.. I think it is an anti- > fungal, right? do you recommend a particular anti-fungal suitable for > vegetarians, in case you know one? Did you feel any reaction to the grapefruit seed extract (GSE)? GSE is both antifungal and antibacterial. It will also kill the good bacteria. I try to avoid it for that reason, though I have found it very effective at times. I like caprylic acid on a regular basis. Coconut oil contains caprylic acid, so you can try that as well. Tanalbit, oil of oregano, rx antifungals, and there are others. Different things work better, or are more tolerable for different people. > As I mentioned to in response to her comment, 9 months ago > in my 'live blood test' the naturopath told me that yeast/candida is > not a major issue for me.. the oxidative stress is the major > problem.. also following the advice of a member of another Yahoo List > (the LDN one) I did several times the saliva test in a glass of water > and it showed no candida at all.. When I started chelation, I needed to use antifungals again. > What natural anti-bacterial agents would you recommend? ( I guess > grapefruit seed extracts would also be one of them) I think oil of oregano probably works for bacteria, not sure about caprylic acid. GSE is often effective for bacteria. I'm sure there are others, but don't remember. > By stiffness / pulling, I don't mean bloating, it is a symptom I've > been having for many years now ( I think it started after my gall > bladder operation).. i feel something pulling in my abdomen, > abnormal..I wonder if it has to do with the bile.. or simply some > intestines irritation.. it does not happen always.. but it did > reappear in these past days.. It seems likely that has something to do with the bile flow. I don't know much about this, but I assume without a gall bladder that bile dumps directly into the intestines instead of being stored in the gall bladder. > Thanks , your input sheds some light about the chelation > process.. one positive thing I draw from all this.. is that something > is happening.. it means DMSA is doing somehting! because after my > hair test i didn't really meet the counting rules.. but some members > here (especially JT) felt I do have a mercury problem, and I > was advised to chelate and see what happens..
