Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 > Hi TK Many thanks for your reply. Do you know whether the drops used by optometrists / eye doctors to dilate pupils or any other drops they use in an eye exam are safe? Or do they contain mercury (possibly as a preservative) or any other thing that could be dangerous to someone with severe Hg toxicity? Once again thank you. Guest guest Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Boy am I stupid.....I never thought of eye drops and what ingredients are in them and I go every three months for pressure checks and every 6 months for extensive testing. The ophthalmologist I go to is a friend of mine, so I know I would be told the truth about the ingredients and would be shown written information on them. Next time I'm there I will ask...I'm curious..as they must have some preservative in them as they are not single dose vials. Being the beta blocker eye drops I was on created serious problems with me, I should have wondered about the dilation drops that are used.
