Guest guest Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I have just finished amalgam removal on Thursday with a dentist who personally knows Drs. Huggins and Morales, so I feel I have been fortunate. I have a question about a supplement he sold to me after the removal, however. It is called " Heavy Detox, " and was quite expensive, in my mind. Since I have never chelated before, I want to make sure I will not cause myself problems. I have already struggled with serious depression and other issues possibly related to Hg. I have an upcoming surgery, and really cannot afford to become worse at the moment. The label has the following information: Succinic Acid (from 100 mg. DMSA) 65 mg. Meso 2,3 Dimercaptosuccinic Acid D-Glucuronolactone 250 mg. Selenium 100 mcg. (from 50/50 blend of Sodium Selenite and Methyl-Selenocysteine) Is this too strenuous a protocol for a beginner? And when should I start chelation since I have only just had the last of my amalgams removed? Additionally, I would like to mention that I had taken selenium for better absorption of Armour thyroid, whereupon I began to experience a metallic taste when I coughed. I took this to be blood, so I proceeded to get a chest x-ray to rule out any problems. The results were normal, and when I discontinued the selenium (then thinking it might be the cause), this problem subsided. After speaking to my environmental dentist, he suspects it could be possible that the selenium was moving metals around; hence, the metallic taste when I coughed. Any comment on this, as well?
