Practice:

1 a :CARRY OUT ,APPLY <practice what you preach> b:to do or perform

often, customarily, or habitually < practice politeness> c:to be

professionally engaged in < practice medicine>

2 a :to perform or work at repeatedly so as to become proficient <

practice the act> b:to train by repeated exercises < practice pupils

in penmanship>

Mistake:

1:to blunder in the choice of < mistook her way in the dark>

2 a :to misunderstand the meaning or intention of :MISINTERPRET <don't

mistake me, I mean exactly what I said> b:to make a wrong judgment of

the character or ability of

3:to identify wrongly :confuse with another <I mistook him for his

brother>

If it is a common PRACTICE for that ambulance service NOT to have a BVM

on their unit, that is their trained repeated exercise but somehow I

think it is not. I would consider this carelessness.

Carelessness:

1 a :free from care :UNTROUBLED <careless days> b:INDIFFERENT

,UNCONCERNED <careless of the consequences>

2:not taking care

3:not showing or receiving care: a:NEGLIGENT ,SLOVENLY <careless

writing> b:UNSTUDIED ,SPONTANEOUS <careless grace> cobsolete :UNVALUED

,DISREGARDED

-care·less·ly adverb

-care·less·ness noun
