Dear

After my surgery I have had one hypo (at around 16 weeks pregnant). Every test

since then has been normal. Some

slight fluctuations in my TSH but I believe this is due to the piturity gland

not having to work in the same way. I

take a pill, I try to take it at the same time every day so as to get my body

used to the routine and the levels

peaking at the same time. Sometimes I take it later and but I don't really

notice any difference in how I feel.

For me surgery has been the right decision so far. I still have some of my

gland, so I still have some natural

thyroid hormones floating around which must be good. I also know that the gland

may get bigger if my GD antibodies

become very active again. But with regluar testing we should keep on top of it.

At least I didn't have to take

something radio active and wait for my gland to slowly die (in itself this

sounds horrific).

I am a nurse and have had 5 pregnancies my self. I work maternity as well

as other floors. If the the placenta is attached lower in th uterus, as the

uterus expands the placenta then displaces upwards from the stretching. No

one said that the placenta reattaches. Your concern should be for placenta

previa where it covers a portion of the os of the cervix. This is no wives

tale. Ask your OB. Amy don't get too alarmed. Just have the OB follow it.

Best wishes. I.

Hi Caroline!

Congratulations! This is wonderful, especially after all you had been

through before you had Dylan.

Well. You're a wee bit older than me (just a couple of months) and this

gives me hope.

Anyhow, I know things will go smoothly this time as they did with Dylan and,

again, I'm so happy for you.

Love,

Hi!

Well, I am depressed. I went to the hospital, I was supposed to check in at

7:00am for a 9:00 c-section. I was there for 1 1/2 hrs and I had my IV, hubby

in scrubs etc. But, I had a 99.4 temp. The OB didn't want to do the c-section

today, as he said I was highly supseptible to infection. So, I went home. I want

to do what is best for myself and the baby but I actually am scared for a

c-section now.

My question is did any of you get induced for a VBAC birth, I really wish I

could just have labor. I wasn't even scared for my RNY. I really wish I can have

labor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EDD 1-20-03, c-section was supposed to be today.

Ack, reposting a reply that I sent to the wrong person ..... sorry.

I sure understand how it feels to think you are going to deliver only to be sent

home. The same happened with baby #2 for me. My heart goes out to you because

I know exactly how heartbreaking it can be. In fact, I was crying so hard on

the way out of the hospital that I'm sure people thought I must have lost the

baby ... it was that upsetting to me at the time.

A low-grade fever like that could be caused from dehydration. That was exactly

the temp I had on the day of my WLS and I thought it would be canceled ... but

my WLS doc said that it was common because of the bowel prep we had. Do you

think you were adequately hydrated? I'm thinking positive for you that there is

a simple explanation to your temp.

While I am definitely no expert, from what I've read if your original C-section

was a vertical cut then you should not even attempt labor. However, if you had

the low-horizontal cut then you could try labor. This is what I see on " A Baby

Story " , " Birth Day " , " Maternity Ward " , and " Special Delivery " . (I'm addicted

to those shows.)

((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))
