Guest guest
Neurofeedback is brain re-training. An electrode is put on one part of the brain and the patient is rewarded for keeping that eeg data within a certain parameter. For my daughter we are trying to decrease slow wave and in general decrease spikes and amplitude. She watches a monitor, there is a game running - usually pac man or a space race. The game plays, music plays while she is within the parameters that are set. When her brain is not responding the game and music stop. What is so interesting is that she moves her neck or body to try to regulate the brain. Most times she does. She is clearer and more vocal after the sessions. We have less seizures after the sessions. I just got a home trainer so I can do this every day. Currently we see a neurofeedback practioner 3x per week. In our case it helped my daughter have some awareness and try to clear the subclinical funk. She cannot always do it but this has clearly been helpful for us. A good website to look at is eegspectrum.com.
