Zanna--how is Lelia/Trip to see Dr. Nice

You all don't know I've been fighting quite a few bladder infections this year,

most of which have

come since July. Urologist has me scheduled for CT scan of abdomen I guess on

Tues and cystoscopy

on Thurs to see if there's a stone or other reason behind this. Can't do IVP

because allergic to

iodine.

Another infection before my trip, put on sulfa...,his nurse left message after I

left wondering how

I was doing and to call when I got back, so I thought nothing big. Called when

I got home and

learned..........wrong drug; that the culture showed needed different drug.

So....there I was on

wrong drug for 10 days and no drug for the rest of the 2 weeks. Of course

infection still there, so

onto penicillin I go--still not work then onto Keflex. Developed fever the

morning of my foot

surgery so cancel that (Nov 1). Doing fairly good but not right. Nov 8

symptoms another

infection---none showed on sample or in culture. Still not good on

Thurs/Fri--more symptoms

including mid back pain etc. Call urologist on Thurs no call back after being

told would. Called

again Fri morn and they said it'd be noon before he called so I told her there

was some

business/grocery shopping I HAD to do so I'd call when I got home. Got home at

11:50 and voila---2

messages. ONe from doctor (returning my call), one from nurse saying doctor

says there's nothing to

do have to wait until after tests. I called back and questioned that but she

just repeated it.

Yesterday morning---fever, up all night frequency but little urine. collected

my own sample at home

and very cloudy, smelly, with crystals. Called urologist. One on call was in

Loveland over 30 mi.

away. So called fam. doc and her on call doc says go to urgent care at a local

medical clinic (not

the hosp ER). So off we go.

What a nice doctor running that. Very concerned and knowledgeable. Raging

infection--to use their

words. Gave me injectable antibiotic, script for augmentin (since I have

allergies to other common

ones but not penicillin) and told me to call today (they're open 11 a.m. to ??)

and tell them how I

am. If not any better then to hospital they'll take me. I'm GOING TO BE

BETTER, aren't I?? Also,

said he wasn't " going to go there " regarding the urologist's statement to me on

Friday. I said I

will and that I was very puzzled as to why they didn't think another specimen

should be analyzed

just because there was no infection the week before.

It is some better but I am so tired from the fever. Why does it do that?

BEcause of inflammation?

So, Zanna, that's how I am!!!!!! Plus this past week has to deal with sudden

and nasty

business/family issues and type all manner of papers including land legal

descriptions (I hate those

right behind typing crochet directions). Craft fair sounds fun but get someone

to help you
