Another Dose Change

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd say a quick hello while I'm sitting here watching tv and winding down for the day. My doctor appointment yesterday went great, as usual...my doctor looked at the comparison I had typed up for her between my last dose (100mcg) and then-current dose (88mcg Synthroid) and the fact that I started feeling great for a while in between the two, and my lower body temps, and so she agreed readily to let me take one and a quarter of a 75mcg tablet, making 94mcg for the dose. She agreed that the addition of the Vitamin B Complex and Magnesium very likely caused the difference in how I feel, because the Vit-B flushes your system she said, and the magnesium helps with bowel movements, and that my body wasn't absorbing as much as before probably. So, we'll try that for 6 weeks and see where it gets me. Great news: my blood pressure, which has been 150/90 for the last 3 years, and had gone down to 130/85 recently, was 124/80 this time! Woohoo! She did say I had a slight heart murmur, but my sister had discovered that about 15 years ago when she was in Nursing school, I had just forgotten because no other doctors had mentioned it. My mom, sister, and I all have slight murmurs, and apparently unless we experience symptoms, it's no big deal. She did tell me that if I got pregnant at some point, it would exaggerate the murmur due to the increased blood volume.

I wish I could share my doctor with all of you. She's absolutely the best. She even told me that when I move to Japan this summer and get my new doctor, that if I have any problems with him/her listening to me about my thyroid stuff or anything at all, to give her a call and she'd work with me to make the new doc understand that I do know what I'm talking about and to just listen to me and allow me to have it MY way. Can I just keep her as my doctor for life? LOL!

I experienced a very weird sharp pain in my chest last night. It was almost like a muscle cramp, or something. It was on the left side, about where the bottom of your bra strap would be, and it hurt when I inhaled but not when I exhaled. It went on for a few minutes, and my husband was just about to take me to the hospital, when all at once, I felt as if something broke loose inside and the pain was gone. I almost expected to have a stroke or something, like a blood clot had got stuck or something. I made myself stay calm, took an aspirin in case it was in the blood stream, though I really couldn't tell if it was muscular, vascular, or pleural. I have no idea what it was, just that it went away, the area felt a little sore for about a half hour afterward, and that was it. I would have gone to the hospital, but the hospitals on base have such crowded emergency rooms all the time, especially at night, that I just didn't go. I would have if the pain had got worse or radiated down my arm or neck or something but it didn't thank goodness. Maybe it was just a weird muscle cramp. Hopefully!
