Guest guest
I introduced myself last week as a newcomer to this site, Stella is 5 and has been on the diet for 2 weeks now, the first week we ended up back in the hospital for some 'fine tuning', and then she had 9 wonderful days with no seizures. it was a miracle to see her eyes look at us with clarity, and to talk w/o slurring, she was bouncing back quickly from 100+seizures a day so we put locks on the cupboards and the fridge/freezer just in case. Although she never asked for other food, we wanted to be extra cautious. Sunday morning she woke me up having a huge T/C seizure in her sleep, and the day continued in that fashion until we gave her the diastat. Again this am, she had more T/C in her sleep and a few myoclonics and absense seizures. Her speech has completely gone, she sounds like she has a lisp or like you are talking to a drunk person. I'm racking my brain thinking what was new we gave her and there was nothing. I know not to expect a complete miracle so soon, but she was doing sooo well!!! Just though I'd share with you all out there my frustrations becasue I know you understand. amanda
Guest guest
Are you still on any AED's? Sometimes the diet makes them work differently. It could also be bad constipation which totally messes up the diet. Otherwise it could be an adjustment needed in calories or ratio. It could be a sickness coming on. It could be that fluid intake needs adjusting. It can take weeks for things to settle down with some of these things.
