I was thinking that if he is, buy a roll of chicken wire and have him hang it on your back fence. If doesn't like the color, spray paint the chicken wire white to match the fence before you hang it. Or, you might find something else that you could use at Home Depot that would look attractive yet hold those little guys in. Next, and this is the best thing ever invented, they make dog doors for sliding glass door units. Chi's are extremely smart, that's why most people don't care for them... but they will take to the open panel like lightening. It's so fun to see them come and go. They'll learn really fast that they need to go outside to potty. I use to have a special toy box for my Mandy for all her toys. I'd tell her " Go get a toy " and she would open the lid and pick out what she wanted. The rope with the knots on each end are great, especially if you have two of them playing tug of war. What a hoot to watch them. Chi's are lap dogs and have so much love to give. As they get a little older they might want to sleep in bed with you guys. Then what's going to do... " He'll fall in love " ..... He's putting on his tough front right now because you brought home two instead of one. Just tell him how would he like it if he didn't ever have anyone to associate with? It would drive a human nuts to not have human contact. All animals need a mate to relate to. And, your pups are so small they are the size of a 1/2 a dog so he shouldn't complain. Really think about the door dog, you won't ever, ever, ever be sorry you got one. You can lock it off at night time and the opening is about 4 " x 6 " ...very small so you don't have to worry about someone climbing through it. Now, do me a big favor..... START YELLING at those people in your house!!! They can also do something to help you out, like clean up after themselves and do more than their share. What is it about families that when the mom is sick, they just figure she still can do it all. Sit them all down and tell them YOU CAN'T. I feel for you kiddo.
