Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Hi Theresa Are you about the right age for menopause, perhaps? This would be one of the annoying symptoms. I'm only 46 but it turns out I've been going through menopause about two years already! My theory is that an underlying low thyroid condition can bring on " earlier " menopause. Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 my hormones are irregular due to weight loss, polycystic ovarian disease, and due to hormones. my periods aren't exactly 28 days apart, from 21-28 days is the normal. it sounds like you are needing to up your dose of armour (maybe). i would see a gyno anyway just to rule out potential problems. if you're on birth control you may have problems to. i took depo provera (which i don't recommend for anyone) and it made me have my period (1st after shot) for over a month straight. sounds like you have something wrong with your progestrine/estrogen balance also. might want to have that tested. good luck andrea Period will not stop - Help Me!!! I have hat my period for nineteen days now and it does not seem like it is stopping yet. The first eleven or twelve days it was only spotting. Then the pass week it has been coming heavier at times and some times like last night it did not come out at all and then this morning back to flowing steady. Let me tell you that I have had a heavy period for over a year now. Then when I started taking my Armour sublinqually about two months ago my period has come eleven to twelve days later each month. I am on two and a quarter grains of Armour and have Candita issues and am on iron because of being anemic. I do not know what is causing this and I just want it to stop without having to go to the GYN and them want to give me a pill or do some procedure on me. Guest guest Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Since you already are anemic, as you probably know already, it's important to not lose too much blood. Sometimes prolonged periods are due to benign fibroids that lodge in the uterus. A trip to a gyne would check out this (oh joy ! not.) I'm on the other end, day 49 between period today. Other body signals saying it might be on it's way. My thyroid was removed in Nov '05 because of cancer, going hypo for radiation treatment Nov., started thyroid replacement hormone in Dec. My period has been far apart since. I hoped the radiation would fry my ovaries, may not have. I'm 50, I'm ready for this mess to be all over. jane > > I have hat my period for nineteen days now and it does not seem like > it > is stopping yet. Guest guest Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 This is all very interesting. My periods have been irregular for a couple of years and finally last autumn I started getting daily bad headaches and hot flashes - and no periods for more than six weeks at a time after being a regular 25 day cycle. I went to my doc and my FSH, LH and Estradiol all showed I was going through menopause. But I now know I've been hypo for many years (at least 10 years, possibly 30!) and I've noticed that since I started Armour (only 1 month ago) my cycle has suddenly returned to normal. I think hypoT really is connected to earlier menopause (I'm 46), especially if you have been suffering for a long time.
