Guest guest
Hello Clare, What an inspirational story you have shared, thank you. I had goosebumps reading your story. I am sorry for your loss, but also wish you well with your second son - what a blessing. I am also a UD, trying to conceive #1, well not actively quite yet, as I am on Lupron Depot to stop Endo growth. I have had one miscarriage and look for ward to starting TTC again in December. Thank you again for sharing your story. It means so much to those who are challenged with our special anatomies! UD 34 clareadele wrote: Hi I have been more of a watcher (although have posted occasionally) over the last year but just wanted to add my story as a success and positive hope for everyone out there. I would also like to thank everyone who has answered my paranoid fears over the last year with nothing but understanding and compassion. Last year on 14th September I gave birth to my baby boy, Toby at 26 weeks. Unfortunately a week later he gave up the fight for life and we lost him. His memory will always be with us. I found out for certain after his birth that I have a didelphic uterus through a laprospcopy. Soon after Toby died we decided to try again for a baby and in February I found out I was pregnant. As I live in the UK there was no opportunity for cervical stitches or cervical scans like they seem to do in the USA so the only extra care I received this time was a few extra scans to check on the growth. This pregnancy, just like the last progressed perfectly with little sickness. I took it easy and finished work as early as I could (at 29 weeks). We went on holiday to Cornwall at the beginning of week 34 in a caravan figuring if anything happened it happened - it is not like there are no hospitals there..............Of course it did....My waters broke on the 13th September (a year exactly since Toby) and Toby was born weighing 5lb 2oz at 34 weeks plus 5 days. Initially he was great but they did take him to intensive care to give him extra oxygen. 2 1/2 weeks later we were home and now at nearly 5 weeks old and nearly at his due date he is doing brilliantly and weighs 6lb 11oz. I was really worried during my pregnancy that no proactive measures were taken but it does show that just because you have lost a baby before does not mean it is neccessarily going to happen again. I like to think that was born when he was to help me cope with the anniversary of Tobys birth - both will always be very special little boys and I am sure has a guardian angel. Thanks to everyone for your support and good luck with everything. Guest guest
Clare, Thank you so much for sharing your story. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!! I think you're right about him arriving on what would have been a difficult day for you in order to help you through it. What a little miracle. I am also UD and am TTC. I had a chem PG a few months ago and am TTC now again. It is difficult some days to know we have to deal with so much more than " normal " uterus women, but inspirational to know it can be done!! Good luck and congratulations to you and your family. Jenessa UD, 27, and TTC #1 (after 1 chem PG)
