Guest guest
Hi I recently got 's Carnitine blood results back. They were: Free Carnitine . . . 14 (30 - 60 umol/l) Total Carnitine . . . 43 (35 - 65 umol/l) These results give a ratio of acyl to free of 2.07 A ratio of > 0.4 is considered a deficiency. Has anyone else had a ratio so high? If so, what advice were you given? I have tried supplementing with Carnitine in the past but it causes problems with diarrhea and increased seizures so I do not know whether to try supplementing again or just leave it. Since her last blood test I have increased red meat in her diet, and overall protein, so I am quite surprised that her Carnitine levels came back lower than her previous result (Free 18, Total 36, Ratio 1.0) Many thanks Jill
