Just wanted to extend you a hug from someone who has also had a midwife that

gives homebirth midwives a bad name! My youngest child was born at home after

two cesareans. All three of my kids have hearing loss-- we know it's

obviously genetic due to 5 generations in my family.

I agree if you know the reason for the loss it would help. My daughter was

diagnosed at 2. She wore aides for 5 1/2 years. Hers fluctuated for a long

time, then at 8 years old got worse. She was just implanted this last May. The

doctors feel her vestibular acquiduct is enlarged. This is determined by a

CT Scan. Keep in mind, it depends on who reads the scan. 5 years ago we were

given anywhere from a normal VA to Enlarged. Often kids with a EVA is

progressive.

If no changes have occurred you don't need to worry, but just stay informed.
