Uniden phone problem

Hi,

I am wondering what to do about a new phone I got. It is a Uniden

phone from CostCo that operates at 5.8 GHz and comes with three

handsets. refuses to use it, and I know why. It makes his

Nucleus 3G BTE wail/buzz loudly in a high-pitched manner when on the

T-setting. I tested it with the 3G listening headphones and it did

could hear it. I ALSO tested it with his hearing aid, and it did

the same thing!! I don't think this telephone is truly telecoil

compatible! None of our other phones do this. I also tested by

moving around the house, and the loud, wailing sound is _always_

there. (The noise is louder and different from the other kind of T

buzz you get sometimes near appliances.)

I wrote email to Uniden and at first they sent me a form-letter

response that didn't seem to address the problem. I wrote back,

pointing this out, and they responded saying they could send me a

different model 5.8 GHz phone.

What do you think I should do? Get the freebie phone? But if I do

this, won't it be a cop-out for Uniden whenever a hearing aid user

complains about their phone? The new one comes with only 2 handsets

while the CostCo one came with 3, so it is inferior.

Thanks for any advice!

Doesn't the FCC regulate phones? Maybe you could dash of a complaint to them,

then ask Uniden to supply you with a phone that is T-Coil compatible with 3

headsets which is what you paid for and need. This is just a thought. I don't

have any experience here 'cause my daughter is only 3 and we have not dealt with

this yet. Good luck.
