Thanks for the response. Am also trying to get the OK to reduce calories as I think this, too, is hindering his ketosis.

Guest guest
It might help Tracey, prob worth a shot. We found with that, as with his meds, he seems to have a similar reaction to ketosis - like big 'peaks' and troughs' - part of how his overall quirky metabolism works maybe, dunno... Anyways, it is currently working for him, he doesn't go too high and then too low ketone wise like he used to for a long while on the diet, so this is what we are sticking to until we need to make a change for any reason. Yes, all meals/snacks are done in the 3.5:1 ratio. I have thought about a 4:1 for breakfast as being useful for him in the past to try and keep him at the higher end for the whole 24 hr period, but as he is one whose ketones raise up as a matter of course during the day, we might end up overshooting the mark, like going too high later on in the evening. When he was having low morn ketones, (it used to be rare that we could ever get waking ketones above 4 -6) his level before bed had always been too high, now that he is 'just' 16 at bedtime (sometimes the odd 16+ but nowhere near like he used to be, ie - every night..) he seems better able to hold ketones overnight. ----- Original Message ----- > Just read, with interest, the way you space 's meals. So...am thinking of doing 4 meals/day...or more?
