Guest guest
Hello to all, my name is and I have been reading this group for quite sometime. I have posted little, so I hope I remember how. This group got me started on antibiotics. I took Doxy, 100 mg each day for 3 months. My doctor did not like the idea, he says I was too old, (50) and my arthritis was too severe and active. He had me on mtx which made me sick within one month and I demanded something not so toxic. He ALLOWED me to use doxy but only for 3 months. I figured that was fine, if I was doing well, I'd just get my gp to give it to me. At my 3 month checkup, my rheumy decided I was not progressing, in fact I was showing signs in even more sites so his answer was more DRUGS. I requested to remain with the AP, but he would only give me 6 more weeks. Here is where we split the sheets. Before I could decide to approach my gp about a prescription, I found a website that I have been living in for almost two weeks now. Honestly, I got this address from some group I am in, and I believed it to be this one. Anyhow, the site is www.jhackett.topcities.com and if you have not taken a look, I really encourage all to do so. I have decided to follow this protocol for a while and see what happens. I have begun my elimination diet as of yesterday and my intent is to document here the happenings as they occur over the next 6 to 7 days. My thinking is that the information may be of help to some of you out there. The diet is, of course, only the first step. I had already changed my diet to some degree and I actually did achieve some positive results. This showed me that I was merely being bullheaded in not going all the way with the program. On my own and by accident I have already discovered I have a BIG problem with corn, so let's just find out if there is something else being a pest. The diet restricts you to a list of foods that are considered to be mostly non allergenic. Yesterday I ate peaches, raw carrots, fish and zucchini. Today, I have had pears, fish and zucchini. The day is fairly young and I expect to begin seeing some effects possibly this evening or tomorrow. This would indicate my body is beginning to withdraw from something that has been affecting me. I certainly hope so. I know we have had several messages on this site urging us to change our diets and lifestyles. By no means are they wrong and I am just offering myself up as a test for others to see. Hope you all have a good day.
