Guest guest
DeeAnn, I know the spotting is scary sweetie, but I'm sure it's just the baby settling in for a long stay. But I have to agree with , with your history I would be demanding repeat betas and an u/s as soon as you hit the 3000 level. I don't understand, why your dr isn't doing this. I had betas every other day until I reached 3000 and had the u/s that day. I hope that your dr will cooperate and not leave you hanging until 17th. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers sweetie. Love & hugs, Jo-Ann update (good news & bad) Hi ladies,Well, I had my second round of b/w today. The good news is that my betas nearly quadrupled! From 42 to 164!!!! My progesterone is at 18.7, which the nurse said was adequate, but it seems kinda low to me. The bad news is that I woke up having some spotting. I know everyone says that can be perfectly normal, but I am still feeling very worried. (With both my eps, I never had any pain, just spotting--and I never had any spotting with Daisy). My u/s is scheduled for 8/17 at 2:30 pm. Goodness, that seems like ten years from now!!! From now until then, no more b/w or anything. I hope everything is okay, but it is so hard not to worry. I know you all know what I mean.Any thoughts on how to stay sane? Take care everyone,DeeAnn
Guest guest
I second what said about the u/s!! My dr wanted to wait until there was " more " to see on the u/s before doing one. I didn't like that so I sort of, ummmm...made up symptoms, well not really made up, just exaggerated them. It worked...I got my u/s a week earlier! -AmyR
Guest guest
DeeAnn, I know, I have been missing posts too. I have been trying to look at each dr. apt, b/, test, etc as a "hurdle" and everytime I keep telling myself I made it over one more hurdle!! It helps some. Everytime I get an good news or hear the baby's heartbeat, I feel better and enjoy it..... That is probably one reason we rented one of those baby dopplers, anytime I need that little bit of reassurance, I listen to the baby..... Time will fly for you and you will feel better after you get your u/s. Take care. update (good news & bad)> > Hi ladies,> Well, I had my second round of b/w today. Guest guest
DeeAnn, I must say I agree with , you should have a u/s before 8/17......I would call and mention your bleeding or something. I was at my dr's office and the mid-wife said they would probably do an u/s in 2wks and I said, Do I really have to wait that long, since I was having alittle pain on in my side, even though it was the side with no tube....and she went to check with dr and dr said, oh let's get one. If not they were going to make me wait!! Given our history, we should have one as soon as our #s go up enough. Just my opinion.....I am here for you. Re: update (good news & bad) DeeAnn, Well... I am very confident that everything will be alright based on your HCG level going up so much and your progesterone being what it is. With all 5 of my losses, I never had an HCG do what it was supposed to do. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that the spotting goes away soon. I would honestly push though for an u/s sooner than 8/17. That is a long time from now! And, if your HCG keeps on rising at the rate it has been, it should be at 2000-3000 very soon and they would be able to see something on u/s at that point in your uterus. I think the 17th is too far off considering your history... push for a sooner one, for your sanity! {{{HUGS}}}

Guest guest
, Yep, I knew I'd go insane waiting for the 17th, so I had another beta today (1400), and I'll have an u/s tomorrow afternoon. I'm happy with the hcg rise so far--it went from 42 to 164 the first 2 days, and 164 to 1400 the next 4 days. Hopefully the u/s will be more good news, but something tells me I'll still worry a bit until baby is 1 Take care, DeeAnn > DeeAnn, > > Well... Guest guest
Jo-Ann, You and are so right! I think I would've gone NUTS waiting for the 17th with no more b/w or anything. DH called the dr at 4 am Sunday, and it was the dr. who did my surgery. He ordered another beta, and they got me in for an u/s tomorrow. My beta more than doubled again, so I'm feeling more confident that baby made it through her/his 1st journey! (BTW, the nurse told me they weren't doing stuff sooner b/c I was " asymptomatic " and the hcg rise was good. I'll have to remember to strongly self-advocate at this hospital!) Guest guest
, Thanks for the prayers! I know that helps. The spotting has stopped, only lasted 1 day, so I'm thinking it might be okay. I had another beta that more than doubled, and have an u/s tomorrow. I can't wait to hear your l & d story. Hopefully baby will be here soon! Well, I was having a *little* pain on my right (good) side, and with no ep, I wouldn't have thought twice, but I made sure to tell them all about it. DH called the dr at 4 am Sunday, and they ordered another beta today and u/s tomorrow!!! Today it was at 1400, which means it doubled one more time than it needed to! Guest guest
DeeAnn, With your history sweetie (or any of our histories), it's better to air on the side of caution. I think medical professionals sometimes think we are all uneducated and don't know what to expect after an ep. I thank God for the internet, it definitely makes finding information easier. Sometimes you just have to make lots of noise to get your way. As the saying goes "The squeaky wheel gets all the attention!" In this case, you should.
