DeeAnn,

I am so happy that your beta went up so much. I know the 17th is a

long way away and the spotting is scary, I would recommend taking at

easy, laying down as much as possible. My sil is going throught his

now, and her doc put her on bed rest for 48 hours and then slow and

restricted activity for a couple days, and bleeing and cramping

stopped.

Hope you are able to relax!

I hope the spotting stops. I know its so scary. Are you having

another beta done? The good thing is your numbers are going up. Which

a lot of times w/ep's they don't. I also had really low progesterone

levels w/my ep. They were only 7. My dr had told me anything in the

teens is a good number.

DeeAnn,

Your betas sound great!! Try not to worry to much about the

progesterone...18.7 is a very healthy number from what I've read. I read

somewhere in my web searches that in a study of ectopics, none had a

progesterone higher than 15. So that is good news, right?! I'm sorry about

the spotting and I hope it has stopped or will stop very soon. I know it

can be really scary...I had just one day of it around 10wks and I lost it.

I've also heard that spotting is especially common right around the time af

would have been due, which is right about where you are now, I think. I

will pray that that is all it is. {{{{HUGS}}}} I'm not a good one for

suggestions on staying sane...I didn't do a very good job of that ;) The

only thing that helped for me was having a little countdown...each day I

would remind myself that I had made it through another day and was one day

closer. You will make it too!! And if you need to vent to releive some

stress and frustratio, we'll be here waiting for ya! Take it easy and get

some rest..please!

update (good news & bad) Hi ladies,Well, I had my second round of b/w today. The good news is that my betas nearly quadrupled! From 42 to 164!!!! My progesterone is at 18.7, which the nurse said was adequate, but it seems kinda low to me. The bad news is that I woke up having some spotting. I know everyone says that can be perfectly normal, but I am still feeling very worried. (With both my eps, I never had any pain, just spotting--and I never had any spotting with Daisy). My u/s is scheduled for 8/17 at 2:30 pm. Goodness, that seems like ten years from now!!! From now until then, no more b/w or anything. I hope everything is okay, but it is so hard not to worry. I know you all know what I mean.Any thoughts on how to stay sane? Take care everyone,DeeAnn

DeeAnn, Well, let me start out by saying I am thrilled that your #s went up so high!! Hey, if the nurse said the progesterone was ok, than listen to her!! (smile) As for the spotting, I am sorry to hear about that. I imagine it is scary even though many seem to have it. Did you tell your dr you are having it? Maybe they would get you in sooner if you tell them. Has it stopped yet? I will keep you in my thought. Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

Amy,

Thanks for thinking of me! I'm glad to hear that the progesterone

is better than I thought. I was really hoping for 25+, then I

would have felt a bit more " in the clear. " I've been keeping off

my feet for the most part. Yep, today is about the day af was due.

I keep telling myself the spotting was just one last hello from

her. I'm sure I'll take you up on that offer to vent sometime in

the next two weeks!

Take Care,

DeeAnn

Thanks for thinking of me--though I couldn't see the original

message, just the p.s., on the web. I like Amy's idea of the

countdown to keep sane. Right now, I've got 4 weeks down, 36 to

go! (That's a long time!!!)

Take care,

Kim,

Thanks for thinking of me! I'm putting myself on bed rest for

now--lol! I took the whole day off today for my sanity. I know

spotting is so common in early pg, especially when af is due, but

it's not quite as easy to dismiss now! Hopefully everything will be

okay.

Take care,

It won't be long until you deliver!

Pam,

Thanks for all the info! It's good to know that my progesterone

isn't as mediocre as I thought. Nope, they're not doing another

beta! I can't believe that, but I will be in there if I still have

spotting or any pain at all.

DeeAnn,

Well... I am very confident that everything will be alright based on your HCG level going up so much and your progesterone being what it is. With all 5 of my losses, I never had an HCG do what it was supposed to do. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that the spotting goes away soon.

I would honestly push though for an u/s sooner than 8/17. That is a long time from now! And, if your HCG keeps on rising at the rate it has been, it should be at 2000-3000 very soon and they would be able to see something on u/s at that point in your uterus. I think the 17th is too far off considering your history... push for a sooner one, for your sanity!

Thanks ! I'm hoping the beta is a sign that I'll keep getting

good news! I think I will see if I can get an u/s sooner.

Unfortunately, so far, I've not been the happiest with my

healthcare in Iowa. I wish I had the dr who took care of me while

I was pg with Daisy. I really liked her, and now I just have

residents! (Last time I had my blood pressure checked, the woman

was in her 1st day of 3rd year med school!!! I was the 1st real

patient she had seen!!!)

Take care, give Emma a big hug for me!

DeeAnn,

I know the spotting is scary sweetie, but I'm sure it's just the baby settling in for a long stay. But I have to agree with , with your history I would be demanding repeat betas and an u/s as soon as you hit the 3000 level. I don't understand, why your dr isn't doing this. I had betas every other day until I reached 3000 and had the u/s that day. I hope that your dr will cooperate and not leave you hanging until 17th. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers sweetie.

Love & hugs,

Jo-Ann
