This family has no heat and it's been bitter cold here. It's a father and three kids. I thought about getting them a kerosene heater but someone told me they can be dangerous. He has no electricity and lives in a motor home. He can't afford the propane for the motor home furnace. I need suggestions. Anyone have experience with the kerosene heaters? Guest guest
Salvation Army is a no-no. I did email with the pastor at SA and he is a hard nose fella who thinks the kids should be removed from their dad. A lot of people here have no electricity. Us for example--but we do have an alternative power system. The family I want to help don't have a power system at all. The kids are a boy who is 11 and girls 13 and 15. Their mother was killed in a car wreck 3 years ago and dad is all they have. He has some mental health issues and does the best he can. This is something I must do on my own I think. I have heard the kerosene heaters work good but a person is not supposed to run them all the time, or during the night. I think if it could be used to warm them up good at night then again when they wake up... well I think that would work. I just don't know for sure what to do. But I must do something, you know? Guest guest
Oh I hear you on that one for sure.. If it were you or I that went to the " proper authorities " because of the situation.. we'd be fixed right up with all we need.. but a GUY walks in there.. and the kids are gone.. doesn't seem quite fair.. and after losing their mom.. it's not right to separate them from their dad.. no matter what.. Good luck on finding what you need for them.. HUGS |)onna Sharon wrote: > > > Salvation Army is a no-no.
