Hi Ladies,

My name is ' and I had gastric bypass 5 months ago and have

lost a total of 152 lbs. Well low and behold now we find out that we

are 4 weeks pregnant. But last night I started spotting some brown

stuff and today it has turned to a pale red color. It's not a bright

red and it's not a whole lot of blood. The only time I see it is on

toliet paper when I got to the bathroom. These cramps feel like

menstrual cramps. I called the doctor that was on call and he said I

would have to wait until Monday to see my doctor and to take it

easy. I'm scared that we are going to lose this baby. I just don't

know if I can handle losing this baby. Why would God give us a

miracle and then take it away from us. I'm very scared. Any advice

from anyone or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

' son

,

My suggestion is to see your doctor today ASAP!!! I lost my baby

at 5 months gestation and my bleeding started just as you described.

I too thought that it was probably normal and was afraid that I would

annoy my doctors by contacting them about it. The bleeding (though

periodic) went on for about a week. When I did finally call the

doctor, they ordered an ultrasound for the next day. At the

ultrasound, there was no movement and I knew. My body had already

started going into labor that morning. I am still healing. I takes

a long time. But I did learn, that when it involves your body or

your family's health, you can't be too careful. I do NOT mean to

scare you. I was very uncertain myself, but oh, how I wish I had doe

something sooner.

I am praying for your safe pregnancy. Please update us to what

happens.
