Guest guest
Hi, Amy, Thank you so much for the information about freezing breast milk, and about the bedtime feedings being so important. This is all really great info! Guest guest
Pretty early compared to exclusively bottle fed babies. I didn't start my formula fed son on a sippy cup till he was 15 months but my bf dd started at 6 months with water or diluted juice. I have started letting my 5 month old play with an Avent sippy cup with water in it, not that he needs water, but it is teaching him how to use it while I learn to pump lol Once I start pumping I'll give him breastmilk in it. He is loving the cup! He makes a great big mess with the water, loves splashing. Michele When can you start using the sippy cups?

Guest guest
Glad to be helpful! I never would have been successful at pumping if not for the help I received from the pumping moms email list! See below for my answers to your questions. Re: Confused > Thanks, Lynn, for the website and for the info. > > Thanks, especially, for explaining about the bottle > " frames " with liner bags. Can a person pump directly > into a liner bag? Are there any problems associated > with using them, for the baby?? > Many people on the " pumping moms " list pump directly into the liners, aka disposable bags. People use them for formula feeding also, there are no problems with using them. If anything they might be more sanitary since you use a new one each time. I have always pumped directly into the gerber bottles and then those bottles were given the next day. > Also, this is probably a REALLY dumb question, but is > there anything special that you need to do when > washing a bottle that is used for emm? Do you have to > sterilize them like you do for formula bottles, and if > so, HOW do you sterilize them? > Not a dumb question at all. You don't need to wash the bottles any differently. If you *want* to sterilize them, you can either boil them in water or use one of the Advent sterilizers. They make a microwave one which seems to be popular. I boiled my pump parts before the first use, and that was it. I have always thought that running things through the dishwasher is sufficient, although it does not technically " sterilize " them. > Thanks so much! > > >

Guest guest
Ok now I am really confused. Elaine's web site's into diet lists " Dry curd cottage cheese (moisten with homemade yogurt) and Cheesecake " but they are not on the list at Pecan Bread. What is it, can I use these things? I've been cooking all day, I made cheese cake and yogurt. I have two more containers of dry curd cheese defrosted and in my refrigerator. Do I need to throw all of this out? Thank You, Sheri mother to ASD/SCD 1-12-
Guest guest
Sheri, I wasn't trying to confuse you. Is casein free right now ? We usually don't recommend cow dairy products because so many ASD kids cannot tolerate cow's milk products. The DCCC that you have is made from cow's milk unless you ordered it specifically from White Egret Farms, which sells goat DCCC. (This company is often very late with shipments- months in some cases.) So, it all depends on your daughter. Does she tolerate cow's milk products? If so, then the DCCC and yogurt made into cheesecake should be fine. Our experience has just been that many ASD kids have come into SCD with an already known intolerance to cow's milk products. I can't tell you whether it will be okay for her or not. That is something only you would know about her. My boys cannot tolerate cow's milk products and we did not start the goat yogurt until about 9 months into SCD. (Big fear of dairy on my part, due to very bad reactions to cow's milk products.) There have been some ASD kids who can tolerate the cow's milk products. I hope that helps. Feel free to continue to ask questions until you feel that we've explained things well enough to be understood. Guest guest
I met Elaine at the conference in LA and she convinced me to go SCD in stead of GFCF. has never been on either before but Elaine was adamant that this would be better for her. As I have suspected in the past that perhaps couldn't handle dairy I'll go the dairy free route, but this is a disappointment. Now that I think about it Dr. Bock was very impressed that I had chosen SCD but did say something about " a dairy issue we would discus later " . My guess is " the issue " is if she would eat it or not. He said he would know more when her test results came back. I have little doubt that dairy will be a problem for her so I just assume start out the right way. I can always add it back in if he wishes me to after seeing her test results. So this means no cheese unless it is goat cheese, and I wait a good while before trying it? She had scrambled eggs and grape Knox for breakfast. I am going to go to her school and bring her chicken soup for lunch. She is wearing a T-shirt that says " DO NOT EVER FEET ME " on the front and " NO FOOD! " on the back. People are going to call the police on me for child abuse LOL. Thanks for all your help Jody, you and the other moderator's on this list are a true blessing. I don't know how I could do this with out all of you. They do not list DCCC on there web site is this cheese sold under a different name? If it takes six months to get I might as well order it now LOL Thank You, Sheri mother to ASD/SCD 1-12-
