Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been a bit out of the loop for a while but wanted to send a quick update out on some happenings. First - If you haven't heard, Self Help for Hard of Hearing People will be having their 2004 International Convention June 10-13 right in my stomping ground -- Omaha, Nebraska. If you haven't considered attending, you should look into it. The link is at http://www.shhh.org/html/convention.html. Omaha is the home of Boys Town National Research Hospital and the soon-to-open (April) Lied Learning and Technology Center for Childhood Deafness and Vision Disorders. Next, jumping to the topic of political activism -- several interested individuals have formed a task force in the state of Nebraska to address funding/coverage for hearing aids and services in our state. I encourage everyone to get involved and advocate for these types of services within your own state. Best wishes to all! Pam (Mom to Demi, 11, moderate to profound loss -- and her three younger, very loud siblings!)
